Well after perusing some threads this evening i felt i needed to share a Mantra with you all. It is one i learned from a Pranayama(breathing) instructor who really opened my eyes to a lot of realities. I felt the need to share this with the mods especially, because the types of people and comments made on this forum can be so unbelievably disrespectful, ignorant, and just plain dumb. I often need to bight my tongue and repeat my Mantra to myself before i unleash how i feel about some of the things written on this site. There is something called Responsibility. By this i mean the ability to respond to circumstances and people. Lots of members, mostly former members (thank you mods) have no sense of this. I just pray when i read some of these flames that the person writing this stuff is YOUNG. Thats all i can hope, that maybe someday they will evolve into a decent human being.
I really hope this does not sound elitist, because I am not. I am humble, and it humbles me to realize i am part of a species with so many different types of folks. Anyway as for the Mantra, i'll say it again. OH, THEY MAKE PEOPLE LIKE THAT ALSO... when there is nothing left to say...say it to yourself

Very nice!! Touche!

I think I fear they are young and possibly foolish without inhibitions. Sometimes that kind of anger unleashed cause's tomorrow's headlines! I hope they vent here and let the anger go without actions! (including bigots, etc.)! We all have a bad day and some need some help through it

Old and mean, not so good on the health!

I read, bite my tonge and "Imagine World Peace!"

The next post will say: Liberal!

Allrollin: thanks 4 my fav avatar! pr

pr,
i changed my Avatar for you! Also because i think that picture is really funny. She looks like a stalking Big Cat or something. I wish everyone could know this pooch, she is so funny. When people she doesnt know walk by us she starts to buck like a bronco. She is scared of everything dog or human, and tries to hide it with a very unviscious sounding throat growl. A sight to behold.

Thats an awesome point, hoping the folks can Vent here. Really beats hurting anyone physically. It is a strange medium this internet/forum. I can read 100 posts from someone and really have respect for them, helping others with growing and whatnot, then all it takes is one surprise bigoted remark and i'm like "whoa" didnt see that coming...

It reinforces my view of the world- that it makes sense in SOME way- that you posted this on a day that has been difficult, to say the least, for me. Responding to circumstances and people is certainly a skill that we can spend a whole lifetime perfecting, and reminding ourselves to try a little every day is a gift. Thank you for that.
I am going to keep that in mind this afternoon, and work on making the day better.

I struggle with keeping these ideas in the forefront of my mind, enabling myself to put them into practice.
Whatever it is inside me wants to REACT, when the situation calls for a RESPONSE. There is a subtle difference there.
A response is shared from deep down inside, a reaction is what i did yesterday...dammit! Hey as long as were trying...Best efforts are made by those that know an effort should be made. Keep on keeping on:)

just on a side note, not always text can convey the true feelings/intention of writer and most of the time corrections can come slow enough to make it look bad.

just as an fyi, but i know u r probably talking about some more extreme cases ;)

I agree with you that text is a difficult way to convey certain things. It is easy to sound harsh, over-confident, pissed, self absorbed...

When you cannot see the expression or hear the warmth we are left guessing.

Though, at times some people make it loud and clear that they are just angry people. Its in us all, its a matter of who gives it power and intention.

Thanks for hearing me out.
