Hey all !!!!

I recently received my 2nd order from Nirvana of the Traveling Thai.
BTW Nirvana shipped super fast and very stealthy, I am impressed with their service.
Of my first order "10 seeds" only 3 sprouted and they died within 2 days of breaking earth. On my second order I have planted 4 seeds and none have sprouted in 7 days.

I got 6 seeds left. can you give me some tips on germination or link me to some good info on this.

Is the government radiating our mail? This would explain steril seeds.

Thanks

This may help...Cannabis FAQs / FAQ , Recipes, Medical Marijuana (http://cannabis.com/growing/index.html)

(scroll down to the germinating section)

ps...I personally started having much greater success germinating Nirvana seeds; when I keep the soil/air temps above 85 degrees & moist.

hope this helps

i think overall they are ok but i did have trouble germ' hwn x sk but i thought it was just because the seeds were so tiny. No probs wiyth aurora indica or nl x shiva.

And their shipping methods are ninja to say the least.

Hey All

I recieved an email today from Nirvana.

They suggested I practice my germination techniques.

Also they are sending replacements.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: for Nirvana

Definitely practice your germ technique on some bagseed- that's what brick weed is for (it sho' as hell ain't for smokin).
I've never had a problem with Nirvana germ rates. If you consistently have a tough time germing, try starting in rapidrooters, which are pretty forgiving.

Meanwhile, let's troubleshoot your germ method. What is it?

Hey All

Since my last post in this thread I have germinated about 20 seeds.

The method I used was a variation of the one that Nirvana recommends in their FAQ.

I took a plastic plate, placed 2 paper towels on it, placed my seeds on them, then covered with 2 more paper towels. I saturated the towels with O2 enriched water. " I have 5gal in a bucket of water with air stones pumping air in 24/7"
I poured off any excess water. Covered my towel sandwich with a paper plate. I placed this on top of my electric water heater.
I check towels every 12 hour and lift to let O2 in. I moisten as needed.

It's hard to say if most of the seeds were any good. Some were real small and green. They are seeds I harvested from from my plants, I seeded out the lower buds on my Northern Lights and Pez I also have 2 NL/StrawberryCough seedlings growing.
My success is about 50% with my seeds.

I recieved 10 more Traveling Thia seeds yesterday and am attempting germination on 5 of them now. "Using this method"

Please point out any mistakes I am making.

Thank You

How are you planning on growing them soil or dro? If growing in soil, I would just start out getting some 3 inch starters, placing the seed in a good soil mix with NO nutrients, wet it good, use your pinky finger to make a hole half way to the first notch on your finger tip, and drop the seed in. Put under your light of choice and wait 5 days.
I like to use promix soil. I have had 100% success rate this way for years. Germination just requires too much handling. The lord of our herbs intended on it being done this way, as you can see how in the natural environment seeds fall off the budding plant into the soil and grow the next season.
If it makes you feel better soak em in water for 24 hours and then plant them in the soil.

Now dro is a different story...
P.s. This weed is good!!! :D

Thank You Forwhat420, for the great reply.

I couldn't agree more with you, BUT, of my 2 orders I received, 20seeds, only 2 germinated in soil and died after breaking earth.
Actually 2 were in Chia Pet Herb Garden sponges, and one was in paper towels, No luck at all with those. The remaining seeds were in Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

I have a humidity dome and a heating pad, should I be using these?

Thanks Again

Have you tried 'scuffing' the waxy coating of the seed with fine sandpaper, yet? Overdoing it is a no-no, but this helps water to absorb into the seed cover, and kick-starts the germination process.
This is generally for hard to sprout seeds, but I do it with every batch now. Sucks waiting a week, with nothing to show but a newly messed-up schedule.

Too warm. Put them on top the fridge where it's about 80'F, no hotter.

My germ method is put the seeds in an empty glass cigar tube, add about 6 DROPS of water, just enough to moisten but not float the seeds, cap, put in a party cup atop the fridge, flush out with more lukewarm tap water when the taproot shows, plant root down immediately.

Hey All !!!

Well i finally sexed out a female of my Traveling Thai !!!!

Of my replacement seeds 3 male and 1 female, 6 seeds unplanted.

I have pollen in the freezer from a really healthy male Thai. I cut 1 clone from the female yesterday and will flower her when I know the clone has rooted.

I know 1 female from 2 orders isn't good but i'm happy :) Now I have an endless supply of the Thai genetics. Clones and seeds!!!

Thanks for all the input!!

Am still looking for a female African Spirit, I put it on hold till I got all my seedlings up and going good.

I am happy to say I have a good cross section of genetic types now!!

Traveling Thai, Northern Lights, Pez, Real McCoy, Skunk#1 Haze,
Strawberry Cough/NL, I phased out some strains that didn't produce well for me. But I did seed them out for later if needed.
