The other week I was out having a drink with a friends family and they were talking about one of their relatives being thin; and they were all like "oh it's that cannabis stuff that's keeping her thin, she needs to get off it" WTF!!!

I've also met people who think crack and weed are the same thing! lol

Or when there's a car crash or something and somebody says "oh, the driver was probably out of his/her mind on that pot stuff"

The people who make these silly, ignorant uninformed comments are usually no younger than about 40, they're all living in the past. They get fed a load of bullshit/propaganda by the government and it sticks with them, it's been etched into their minds and if somebody tries to tell them different they don't want to know. When I hear these stupid comments about cannabis it pisses me off but at the same time it's kinda funny and makes me laugh at how dumb these people are. I've tried to inform people like members of my family that weed is a beneficial drug and is not dangerous, not addictive, can't overdose etc... but it goes in one ear and out the other, they don't want to know and don't care yet they still enforce their stupid opinions. It's probably because I'm young that they don't take me seriously, I guess we'll have to wait for the government to tell everybody that this drug is harmless because it seems that the government is the only thing that most people will listen to.
When cannabis is legalised, I hope they praise the drug with the same effort and publicity that they used to trash it like when they made that stupid fucking film--

Soon found out about the effects of being easily sidetracked as you mentioned in the telling of your fire incident. I liken it to learning to drive a standard transmission car; at first it takes all your attention, and you're still not so good at it. Eventually you get to the point where it's almost a reflex; you can pull away from a traffic light, uphill, while unwrapping a stick of gum, talking with the passenger next to you, and admiring the legs of a girl in a miniskirt walking on the sidewalk, always in full control of the car. Getting stoned is something like that. You find out what the effects are, and then compensate by whatever means are necessary to keep you fully functional. Just realizing your mind might wander is half the battle; you allocate your resources accordingly, and control your impulses to do too many things at one time. It doesn't take too long to understand that the thing has its place, and don't let yourself be impaired while doing anything that'll require more concentration than you expect to have when stoned. Driving is something I don't do, as is operating a milling machine, a lawn mower, doing my taxes, etc. It comes down to good judgement, and a sensible person usually has enough to get by.

Not saying you're wrong about all this, just offering my opinion.

So, first I had to get that off my chest.

Just the day before yesterday, one of the most ignorant things I heard was from a co-worker; a self professed substance abuse expert, and psychological counselor, no less. He informed me that cannabis goes out of your system in one day, so nobody should worry too much about the random quarter annual testing we have to endure where I work. Since the guy's a putz anyway, and I secretly hoped he'd be tested and fired, on the basis of his own ignorance, I kept my mouth shut and nodded as if I were being told some great truth I wasn't aware of. But he's getting fired at the end of the month anyway, for incompetence though, not anything substance related. He just doesn't know it yet.

I am a christian, 3 yrs bible college,but I am shunned from the church and not allowed to do ministry work, BECAUSE I SMOKE POT! I was told it is witchcraft.Now that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.So I chose my pot,let God be the judge.

Holy shit man, I feel bad for you, this must be quite a fanatical church. I mean even if you were a heroin addict, it's a churches DUTY to help out their fellow man, especially their fellow christian, not tell you to fuck off:mad: . Hahaha well, i've often had it out with my family over this issue.. to the point now where i simply won't talk about it with them because every time i do it turns into a fight about it. Not fun. My personal favourite's are the compairing marijuana to pharmasutical drugs like prozak or morephine.
My mother had her gallbladder removed for various reasons and continues to take a medication for it. She once suggested to me that i try the medication she's on for my acid reflux problem.. but they're completely non related! when i objected and optioned not to take the drug that was prescribed to my mother.. i had to explain that i'd rather control my symptoms with a natural substance than take something that not only wasn't originally intended for me, but possibly not even relavent to my problem!

I tell ya.. family can be a real heartache and pain in the ass sometimes..

The other week I was out having a drink with a friends family and they were talking about one of their relatives being thin; and they were all like "oh it's that cannabis stuff that's keeping her thin, she needs to get off it" WTF!!!

I've also met people who think crack and weed are the same thing! lol

Or when there's a car crash or something and somebody says "oh, the driver was probably out of his/her mind on that pot stuff"

The people who make these silly, ignorant uninformed comments are usually no younger than about 40, they're all living in the past. They get fed a load of bullshit/propaganda by the government and it sticks with them, it's been etched into their minds and if somebody tries to tell them different they don't want to know. When I hear these stupid comments about cannabis it pisses me off but at the same time it's kinda funny and makes me laugh at how dumb these people are. I've tried to inform people like members of my family that weed is a beneficial drug and is not dangerous, not addictive, can't overdose etc... but it goes in one ear and out the other, they don't want to know and don't care yet they still enforce their stupid opinions. It's probably because I'm young that they don't take me seriously, I guess we'll have to wait for the government to tell everybody that this drug is harmless because it seems that the government is the only thing that most people will listen to.
When cannabis is legalised, I hope they praise the drug with the same effort and publicity that they used to trash it like when they made that stupid fucking film--
