Changing tests

I now work at a union shop. As part of the bargaining for the new contract, since the co is resistant to coming off of more cash, it has been proposed that they drop piss tests and go to saliva swabs, which with shorter detection times for thc would be more realistic and humane. I have been abstaining until the first random, just so i can see how it actually goes down. I use coco caps and firecrackers mostly a little vaping and of course the occasional j. My question is would caps and firecrackers show up of saliva testing, or is that test dependent on smoke/vapor entering your mouth?

Just brush your teeth, tongue and gums real good and use a mouth wash.

I thought saliva tests actually measured metabolite levels that are present in your salivary excretion, similar to urine tests. Saliva doesn't retain metabolites for as long as urine, but how could cleaning your mouth out cleanse the actual interior of the gland?

I'd imagine that brushing and rinsing like that would stimulate saliva production, leading to a higher likelihood of failure.

Unless I'm wrong (as I haven't researched this) and they do just measure whether stuff is present in your mouth.

You do secrete it and thats the idea. To remove as much of the metabolites as you can. Brush your teeth and everything else in your mouth and rinse real well. Some people use hydrogen peroxide to wash there mouths.
