Need some help

About two days ago my flowering lady was snapped from the 3rd node up the plant. Immediatly after i realized it was snapped in two i submerged the broken halfs stem in water and it still seems to be growing as the buds are continuing to grow still.
is this plant going to root or is it going to die.
also the other half of the plant in soil well that looks much worse still green with all the leafs droping down and looks completly unhappy:(

you might be able to save the top by trying to clone it. It will take some time as it is in the flower stage. But you might get it to root. i have cloned from a flowering plant but it takes a little longer than a vedging plant to form roots. The rest of the plant, im not sure how big she is, but if the part that snapped off is less than one third of the total plant, she may perk up and put on some flowers.

also some cutitings i had from the plant that snapped are growing little roots in the containers there in
the flowering one i fixed up because i was told by a friend that surrounding the container with something to block the light stops algae growth and having a air pump helps circulate nutrients to the plant.
i added a black bag around the bottom and a pump from a pet store is this all good things to do or am i going to kill my plant
