If you could bring a dead rock star back to life for one gig, who would it be?
John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Kurt Cobain, Buddy Holly, Freddie Mercury? Or someone else?
This Day in Music are carrying out a world-wide survey to see which dead rock stars people would want to see again - for one night only!
Who would you pick? You can see a full list and vote on

Brian Adams :D
I know he aint dead but if he was I'd bring him back just to shoot him myself .:wtf:
I've never forgiven him for clogging up the airwaves with that pile of pap (Everything I Do) that everyone seems to have bought but nobody will admit to.
Seriously though I would probably go with Robert Johnson or Eddie Cochran.

hendrix is my fav of the deads, but i'd bring none of em back. i'm not a religious man but i do believe death happens for a reason we can't understand and never will. hendrix is the innovator the king of electric guitar, king of blues rock king of psychadelic music king of improv jamming. he had the riff the solo. he is why women want to fuck rockstars. he is the most important electric guitar player ever, other than the guy who invented he might be the most important guitar player ever. and the best part is his skill matches his influence, unlike a lot of people who were hugely influential but not much skill.

Well to be fair Jimi was murdered, but that's for another time...
But I will agree with you on SRV. 18 years ago yesterday he died in a plane crash at Alpine Valley. Crazy stuff if you ask me.

Jimi Hendrix died by suffocating in his own vomit while unconscious after taking barbiturates. The death was ruled accidental.
Jim Morrisons death was determined at the scene to be heart failure. No autopsy nor toxicological examinations were ever performed on the body, so theres no hard evidence to establish that drug use was the cause of his death.

There's a couple books you need to read. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the book, but it was an incredible story on Jimi Hendrix and how this whole big set up resulted in his murder.
And I always thought it was common knowledge that Morrison did in fact die because of his drug use. He was always spotted in all the underground heroin bars in France before he died. That fateful night he was all messed up and wanted to cool off, so he drew a bath and the result was heart failure from his body cooling off too fast.
Read "The Lizard King" it tells a pretty good story of the real Jim.

I feel the biggest lose to the music world was Jimi Hendrix. If he was still around the music world would be a different place. He probably would have influenced the African American sector more and we would have never had this gangster rap and go go music that is somehow considered music.

Well to be fair Jimi was murdered, but that's for another time...
I've heard that before...stuff like Hendrix and twopac were murdered by the cia and a whole lot of other mumbo jumbo...but honestly...who the hell would want to murder these guys, I'd understand maybe someone who knew them personally, had a grudge or whatever, but it's not some conspiracy...besides, people like Hendrix and twopac weren't even important figures worth murdering anyway...now men like Napoleon, Stalin, and Alexander, they were secretly poisoned, despite what most books say.

If you were a young rebel in the middle of punk rock, like me then you might say Sid Vicious-Sex Pistols too

RICHARD WRIGHT - PINK FLOYD IS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS EVER. I dont say Sid because I doubt we would of had Saucerfull of Secrets, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, or The Wall (plus many others but those are the best) if Sid had stayed sane.

Dwayne Allman and his bass player whose name I forget. Great live show in the day. You must be referring to Berry Oakley, the original Allman Bros bassist. Like Duane Allman, Oakley was killed in a motorcycle accident which happened 13 months after Duane. He died less than three blocks from the site of Duanes fatal accident in Macon, Ga.
My favorite of Oakleys work is the rumbling bass intro on the 1969 studio track Whipping Post.
