Ok so I am thinking of using cooltube for 1000W HPS like a 200-300 cfm fan with maybe 4 feet of strait ducting... so if i were to do this what kind of exhaust fan should I have for the room 4ftx5ftx6ft? Like do I need the 3 times the volume of the box exhausted per minute even though I have the cool tube?

with a 1000 i would recommend getting a quality inline fan rated around 400-500 cfm. look for vortex, canfan, fantech. they are all about same quality. you are working with alot of heat in a fairly small area.

With a 1000 you CAN get away with a 250-300cfm BUT and this is a big BUT- your ducting must be short and straight, and you need to remember to rate your fan for a carbon filter too!
If you get a nice 400 like Tex says, you don't have to worry NEARLY so much about turns in your ducting, and you will be able to use that fan for a second K too.

I run a 440 CFM with 2000w and a carbon filter. It is the correct size. It's a 6"HO CanFan.

ok so if i run say like a 500cfm inline fan for two cool tubes ran in series (both straight in the same line, with a bit of sag while light is in a lower position) and the inline fan at one end of the duct pushing air out not through the tube right? or would it be more efficient putting it between the two cooltubes? only one 1kw light will be on at atime since they are going to take turns on 12/12 (one on while the other off)

ALSO, do I need to vent the air of the box 3 times a minute with the cooltube or is that only if the heat of light is directly released into the growbox?

The fan should be PULLING air throuhg your system.
You can mount the carbon filter either at the very end right after the fan, or at the very beginning, before the l;ights.

Running the lights alternating like that, be VERY careful- you can get light leaks right through the ducting! I don't think you'll be able to do it, even with the black-lined duct that is available.

ok thanks ill just have a seperate system for both boxes then...

and about the ventilation do i need to circulate the air 3x a minute or with the cooltube can it be less than that?
