Here is the story about Ms Corby who was facing Death by a firing squad but was sentenced to 20 yrs in prison for marijuana... Their is a link to sign a petition to have her freed... Please if you have the time drop by the site and sign the petition...
Their is a documentary on TV Ganja Queen
Corby is serving a 20-year sentence (for which she has received approximately one year in remissions) for the importation of 4.2 kg (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/Kilogram) (9.3 lb (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/Pound_%28mass%29)) of cannabis (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/Cannabis_%28drug%29) into Bali, Indonesia. She was convicted and sentenced in Bali on 27 May (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/May_27) 2005 (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/2005) by the Denpasar (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/Denpasar) (Indonesia) District Court (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/District_Court) and currently serves her sentence in Kerobokan Prison (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/Kerobokan_Prison), Bali. On appeal, her conviction and sentence were confirmed with finality by the Indonesian Supreme Court. No further legal manoeuvres on her part are possible; she may petition for clemency from Indonesia's president, but would have to admit guilt to do so.
Corby has maintained from the time of her arrest that the drugs were planted in her boogie board (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/Boogie_board) bag and that she did not know about them.[1] (http://boards.cannabis.com/#cite_note-littlecheer-0) Her trial and conviction were a major focus of attention for the Australian media. Her current release date, with remissions, is in 2024 (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/2024).
In June 2008 in Australia, the Nine Network (http://boards.cannabis.com/wiki/Nine_Network) broadcast a two-part documentary which included an interview with Corby's former lawyer, Robin Tampoe, who said that the story of the drugs being planted in her bag was a fabrication. The lawyer later apologised to Australian baggage handlers.[2] (http://boards.cannabis.com/#cite_note-fabrication-1)

hate to agree but come on....9lbs. even pressed thats an entire suitcase or more. I hate to sound skeptical but how does one have NO IDEA that 9lbs is on them? yeah, 20 yrs in thai prisons doesnt sound like fun, but dont play the game if you cant deal with the consequences. is anyone close to this case....not just watching the movie... and know that she really didnt know? and if so...HOW?

You are going to last about 5 minutes here with an attitude like yours.
Grow up and realise that if you go to a foreign country then thier laws are sometimes not worth breaking , she took a risk for financial gain (I very much doubt it was ideology that drove her) and now that she has to pay the price she wants others to bail her out.
Murder is a manmade crime but I'm pretty sure 99% of the people like it that way.
BTW if you wish to discuss a society without rules then I'm your man because I would kill for it... :D

Grow up and realise that if you go to a foreign country then thier laws are sometimes not worth breaking , Who is that directed to? Who is going to last five minutes here? You would kill for a society like that? WTF is wrong w/ you? You would like to be put in jail? What you are not a cannabis user? If so then why would you agree in such a harsh sentence? Did you watch the Documentary (Ganja Queen) that was done on this story? Don't do the crime if you can not do the time? Who the fuck gets 20 Yrs for an herb? You want to live in a society as such? Then go the fuck to Thailand? For what purpose would you like such a society? Man I seen this girls story and that is what she is. An attractive young 30+ yr old women in her prime... When she gets out she will be 50+ w/ no life left. The crime she committed she received just punishment? In Thai you can buy a KEY of H for 700 bat which is some shit like $100 dollars don't quote me on the exact figures but I have a neighbor who lived in Thai for over 5 Yrs... Wealthy family owns lots of business their corrupt as SHIT... REAL COOL FUCKING PLACE!!! FUCK THEM NEANDERTHALS!!!! BALI WHAT EVER THE FUCK!!!

Hey if you get a chance to watch ganja queen, you'll find it to be pretty god damn suspenseful. Well i guess it won't be very suspenseful seeing as you already know she is going to prison for 20.
9.9kgs of cocaine was smuggled into Sydney airport from Argentina on the 8th October 2004, the same day, within minutes of Schapelle Corby's flight to Bali. I think something like 50 baggage handlers were caught in this drug trafficking ring.
Corby's lawyer who said later that her story was a fabrication, but i tend to believe otherwise. Throughout Ganja queen you see this corby's lawyer, sometimes it appears as if she doesn't even believe in her client. My explanation for this is a simple one. Of course this lawyer is going to drag her client through the mud, the case reflected poorly upon her! This lawyer lives in a place where they put drug dealers to death. NO QUESTIONS ASKED
In the film you see the local reaction to Corby. Imagine a place where you DIE if you get caught with some cannabis. The situation in Bali was a nightmare, worse than the American paparazzi. They spit on this woman, and held signs proclaiming she be put to death and waved them in front of family members faces. Seriously more like circus than a courtroom (but after seeing our american federal court in action you realize that most forms of justice are more like a circus than anything else)
I feel wierd saying this but i'm glad i live in the US....
Cause sparkin this blunt :rastasmoke: in Bali could get me put to death by firing squad in Bali.

Wasn't directed at anyone that's still here , some folks should read the T&C for the site regarding offensive remarks.
Grow up and realise that if you go to a foreign country then thier laws are sometimes not worth breaking , she took a risk for financial gain (I very much doubt it was ideology that drove her) and now that she has to pay the price she wants others to bail her out.
I stand by this because I don't believe she was stitched up .
Murder is a manmade crime but I'm pretty sure 99% of the people like it that way.
This was in response to the comment that the laws that punished her were "man made" , all laws are man made and just because we don't agree with another country we have no right to tell them how to run thier own shit.
BTW if you wish to discuss a society without rules then I'm your man because I would kill for it... :D
I would love the end of laws but I doubt very much that the majority of people would.

first of all... CHANGE THE TITLE OF THE THREAD.... thailand is NOT indonesia... you can get good bud in thailand (alongside with the finest hookers on the planet... suck a golf ball through a garden hose, but that's for another thread...)
Indonesia is a hardcore muslim country... She was well aware of the risks when she went into this, if she didn't she's a fuckin douchetard who doesn't look shit up online. plenty of documented cases of people doing the same thing, getting caught, and being treated the SAME WAY....
you figure she was lookin out for the dollo and got nicked... muslim countries are crazy about importing drugs.... always buy local in those places... she was obviously a trafficker...
those stories of planting are a little far fetched... I don't EVER let my luggage out of my sight at airports or train terminals...

I'll ignore the monkey comments (which in my mind borders on xenophobia) and stick with your first comment.
This is what happens when you try to take drugs into a country with such strict rules not when you go there as a simple tourist who isn't breaking the law. Step into another mans yard you have to play by his rules.

naughty dreadz watch the documentary and then come back and discuss. i think it was on hbo a while back.
and how the hell do you keep an eye on your luggage the whole time :wtf:?
i imagined you walking in the back after checking your luggage and following it out to the plan haha
and i agree with psychocat the monkey comments were whack. too much hate in the world as it is... we are are people. skin color is nothing of importance. or at least it damn well shouldn't be

Im AGAINST conspiracy theories as a rule.....too easy to speculate about ANYTHING.
But this case simply does not make sense as I understand it.
Nine pounds of dope thrown casually in her luggage. Going to a third world country to SELL WEED? I mean...HUH??? Plus she's with her family including her mother. ("Hang on Mom....one more thing to pack....")
No WAY!!! Too stupid even to comtemplate. Somebody chucked it in while she wasn't looking. That's someone's else's dope who was close to getting caught and they stuck it the first place they could.
I'd be very upset too if it were me. That poor kid's been screwed over big time.

I'm wondering why would a young Aussie woman even go to Indonesia in the first place. Is it a popular vaction spot for Australians? I know that a lot of people go for the food, and because it's cheap to stay in. In any case, I hope she gets out soon.

This was in Bali i believe. The reason she was there is because this is an enormously popular and beautiful vacation spot. It is part of Indonesia yet it is a Buddhist island. A Buddhist island in a sea of Islam. She also had a sister living on the island.
I don't know the details so i won't add to the speculation, instead i can only agree that being placed in confinement for any amount of time for possessing one of Planet Earth's naturally growing plants is SO SAD. Human beings have gone seriously astray.
As has Greenleaf, who has shown he is PREJUDICE. I feel sick to my stomach.:wtf:
