A couple friends and myself were recently caught smoking by the police, on my college's campus (In the parking garage). One of my friends and I were both given written arrests for Possesion of Less than 20g, a misdemeanor. We are working with the police department to have the charges dropped. I have two questions:
1. If the charges are dropped, can the school still take action against us?
2. Should I still get a lawyer in the event the charges aren't dropped?
I go to a public University in Florida.

I don't know about Florida, but in Mississippi, get caught within 1500 feet of a church or school, its a FELONY, regardless of quantity.

Same rules here, Im not sure if University is differant, could you imagine all the arrests that would be made? That is a very good question. And Yes and Yes to the main posters questions. Always have a lawyer handy with his card easily availible in your wallet. Us Stoners need to be prepared :)
