I am sure some of you realize what its like to end up with garbage bags filled with leaf and trimmings. What is the most efficient, highest quality and longest lasting way to process this stuff? Cooking butter? Butane Oil?
Whats the best bang for the buck/time :)

Once I read about extracting the resin from leaves by wrapping a big bundle of leaves in cheese cloth and then soaking it in a bucket (or barrel) with gallons and gallons of acetone. The acetone removes the resin then you need to let the acetone evaporate, which takes a long time, but you end up with sticky black tar in the bottom of the bucket, that you are supposed to smoke. However I could never bring myself to smoke that ugly looking shit and I just threw it away. I prefer buds.

I would mix it all with vodka or cooking oil...let it sit for about 2 weeks....then strain it all and use as needed

If you have that much trimmings, trash bags full. Just bring it to my house I will take care of it.
Really though, there are soo many things you could do, but for the sake of time, and considering how much you have, I would use bubble bags, a paint mixer, and a very large bucket with ice and water. Keep it simple, this isn't the "best quality" but I couldn't imagine doing a butane extraction with that much. Once you make your bubble hash, you could use it to cook with ect..

i always make butane honey oil from my trim an stuff
ive read that acetone extracts not just the thc but also all the tars an chlorophyll an other stuff you dont want, whereas butane is mainly just the thc an cannabinoids.
id reccomend lightly baking your trim before doin this to decarboxylate the thc an activate it first, it will also take any moisture out of your trim
before doing bho id reccomend also seperating the leaf trim into the higher quality stuff an lower quallity stuff so your extracting jus the leave with trichs on
otherwise you can jus make some good ol bubble hash or ice hash which is also nice an easy to make but you can do that with fresh or frozen bud an leaf
not dry leaf. its also easier than using butane with largeer amounts.

This black tar its called hash oil... and its VERY strong...

Well... thats a proof that we shouldnt judge anything by how it looks... if you had smoked "that ugly looking shit" you wouldve got HIGHHHH... :stoned: higher than if you had smoked the weed from where this oil was extracted.

Man... thats weird... ive read at erowid (http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/cannabis_chemistry2.shtml) that acetone was a better solvent than a lot of others (alcohols, petroleum ether, etc) because it didnt solved undesired substances... yet is didnt even mentioned butane, so i dont know if it is actually better or worse than butane.
Anyway... to the OP... i would suggest you to make hash oil, cause it is the most lasting way to use weed... i only smoke hash oil, made with the weed i get (and acetone, so its a black tar indeed)... and even if i smoke every day, the hash oil made with 1g of weed lasts one entire week. What means i can smoke one entire year with only 2oz of weed...
