why not tell your boss you think marijuana could be the next cigarette. As everyone knows, cigarettes are some of the most profitable items to sell except for the fact that demand has dropped so sharply. Only a few people smoke anymore, so your store has that one cash register that has to ALWAYS ALWAYS be staffed while the store is open by someone who is at least 18 years. This is a big expense on a retailer and if they could sell weed already seeded and chopped next to the bugler they could actually make that register profitable again. At least half of my coworkers either smoke weed or they would if it was legal. Most of them are trying to quit smoking regular cigarettes. No matter what the ridiculous tax is, unless it brings the price to more than 15 dollars per ounce there will never be a black market for it, just as there's really no significant black market for cigarettes which are now running $8 per pack in some U.S. jurisdictions. If you work at a retailer that sells tobacco, you may want to mention it to the manager, or maybe to the guy that represents the tobacco company to your store to tell his boss. If the managers hear it from enough employees, especially the ones who are indispensable to running profitable areas of the store, they won't take any kind of retribution, especially if no one knows you smoke (a closet stoner). For many of you out there, they may not even catch on that you are a pothead, just someone who has a good idea for the store and isn't afraid to speak up. If anyone has a stranglehold on the media and government, it's the big-box retailers. Every product is distributed through their doors, and if they suffer all the consumer goods that fill their shelves will also suffer.

Wrong approach. This is a MMJ forum. Medical Cannabis as I like to say...
I work at a liquor store, for now. I broached the subject of cannabis with my boss and all he could say is that I don't know why people use it. I left it there. There is a very strong possibility that he is a closet smoker. Most businessmen his age in this area are. 50-70+ yr old. It was my first day on the job, I don't want to jump out and say hey I smoke cannabis. Most people think if you admit to doing any illegal drug, that you are 99.9% likely to do other illegal drugs that you wont admit to.
You're better off broaching the subject with anybody with a binder full of medical research on cannabis and the amount of time and money spent on pursuing, arresting and detaining cannabis users. Hand it out, if they're half way curious or interested they'll read it, else they'll disregard it, probably refuse to take your binder of information.
There is a major problem with youth abusing cannabis and most of whom go on to abuse harder illicit substances and become "career criminals".
Be smart.
