Next summer, I will be breaking open the door to the crawl space and i planned on growing 24 mothers and have 24 clones going and 24 veg'd clones flowering. Now here is my question, i was thinking of getting a 250w mh and a 250w hps bulb and the ballasts for each, but looking at tihs i think i found something better? its led so low heat, its 300w, it be worth the money for sure if its all real, its 50 sq feet supposedly, but im not gonna be using 100sq feet so there will be plenty to reflect and hit the canopy better.. its supposedly comparable to a 1500w hps or mh, its made by the same company that makes the procyons competitor ufo, its the upped version.
http://shop.sunshine-systems.com/product.sc?productId=9 it is 1795, i would get 2 of them for each room, or would the mh then put in a room with a hps work better because they get more concentrated of the spectrum for the stage they are at...?

If this info helps ill will be using either mylar or a flat white paint application to the walls, it will be around 25-30 sq feet as i will have 24 plants in five gallon buckets which are a foot in diameter and they will be as close as possible, i will be using canna nutes (growforce) grow and bloom nutrients at as far as i can ramp up without burn, ummmmm thats about all i can think of, i will be growing in a combination ofgrowing/flowering soil mixed with moisture control water holding soiling and perlite actually ill probably grow one more strain just so i can get an even 5x5 square,which would be around 25-30 feet, with a light rated to grow in a 50 sq foot space.

Why so many moms? if you are only wanting 24 clones at a time do you need 24 moms?:silly:

I was going to say the same thing. You can get 24 clones off of one mom.
And I wouldn't get LED lighting yet, maybe in 2 years. I would make my own though, if I had some time. Nothing beats HPS for flowering at this point.

well its 24 different strains, not so much trying to get a ton of bud but a variety and dont really want more then one of each... ok ill just get a 250 mh and a 250 hps, will this be enough?

1 250 for 24 plants NO WAY... Unless they are babies no chance maybe on tracks even then you probably would want more Lumens.. I would read a little more before you jump in feet first.. Good Luck GL1

Stinkybudz;
Don't even consider the Sunshine System LED light......
they claim the 300watt "grow panel" will replace 1500watts HID!
That's impossible, and completely false. Crap like this gives LEDs a bad name.
HPS is the best bang for the buck, but there are a few good LED set-ups.
Think Procyon 100 or TI SmartLamp or TI SmartBar.

Hope you've got a lot of time. That's a lot of work. Good luck, and send me some.

Not even close. Think at the very least 5000 lumens per plant. A 250 MH is about 20,000, and an HPS is about 25,000. So that's good for about 9 plants, giving results less than fantastic. I wouldn't dream of flowering my 6 plants in anything less than a 600W HPS, and I add CFL lumens to that.
I put a 220W T5 fixture on my 10' office ceiling. My wife said well I guess if we want to grow plants we can do it in that room. Many people don't understand how important strong light is if you are going for yield. Sure lower lighting conditions will allow plants to grow, but do you want much fruit from your orchard? I could grow plants by setting them in my office, but they would stretch badly and produce very little bud. And don't forget to spend as much money on your ventilation as you do on lighting, and research how to do it properly so you don't have to tear apart your grow 3 times like I did.

how about 4 procyon 100s? in each room, and im not looking for yield as i have 24 strains so under an ounce per clone is just plenty fine, would they live well under 4 procyons100 in about 30-50sq feet?
