I want to up the size of my grow. So I've been looking into using a 600W HPS. My plan is to do 6-8 plants. I haven't really looked into whether a 600w will be adequate, but that's not the reason for this thread.

Has anyone looked into how much it actually costs per month to operate a 600w hps? I don't want to be popping up as a big red blinking light for anyone that would be monitoring for power usage that coincides with growing. That and I don't want to ramp up my power bill further then I can willingly afford.

Just something I figured I would look into before I get this all setup and realizing it after it's too late.

Thanks.

Cool, thanks for the link. I'll have to look at what they charge per kwh. At least it seems like the cost will be reasonable. Sure it would be nice if it was cheaper, but isn't that true with anything.

Hopefully down the road I'll be able to afford some LED grow lights.
