If I'm using a single waterfarm can I add ph up or down to the overflow tube....? Can I just drip it on the hydroton, or do I need to lift the grow chamber and add to the bottom res directly. May be a dumb question but I wanted to know for sure which method was best so I can avoid trouble later. thanks

Each to his/her own, but normally you would adjust PH when you are mixing nutes. If you check your res and it's too far off, you can add some PH up or down, but be careful not to over do it. It's best if you can flush, then add the proper nutrients.

You could also buy an automatic doser, or make one like I did for less than $100 using the thread in the grow FAQs. You should be able to adjust PH and anything else in the res without lifting the grow chamber, or the design is flawed IMO.

I just apply the ph down or up into the blue level tube whenever I need to adjust it. If you have an airstone in the reservoir, it will mix it up for you and just check the ph about a half hour later to get accurate reading.. after a while the plants get too big to keep lifting them out of the reservoir bucket so just adding the ph adjuster throught the level tube is just fine. :)

I just dilute the necessary 'up-or-down' solutions, in a pint or two of water, and pour it over the Hydroton, etc. ... ... adding a remote reservoir outside your growroom, makes that a lot more convenient ... plus, tends to help cool your solution, too ...
