i read somewhere that if you make your own solution or neem oil, water and soap, you can use this to not only spray the plants down, but you can water them a little with this liquid, and the plants will suck it up and it will be all good.

ive done this with good results. but i STILL see bugs crawling on the surface of the soil. ive experimented with spraying the soil with a product called "neem greenlight II" and this kills ALL the little bastards. just wondering how safe it is for the plant...

first is the neem ive been using (on foliage and soil)

second is the neem im sceptical about (spraying on soil)

any help appreciated

I don't know about neem as a systemic- never seen labeled as such.

I do use it regularly as a soil drench to control thrips, etc.

An easy hand is a good idea- stuff'll remain active for quite a while in soil.
Pyrethins can be a little harsh if ya overdo it, but they're mostly safe.

when you drench your soil, do you still include the few drops of dishsoap as an emulsifier? ive been watering with the neem oil solution, just water, neem oil and a few drops of soap. maybe you could even work this into your nute solution. thanks for the help.

are thrips the same as gnats?

have you ever heard of a product called "go gnats"? saw it at the hydro store. maybe ill try it out. it was an organic product. looked like a coarse grain.:rastasmoke:
