My friend is planning on using 2 1000 W on 12/12 taking turns which are on and a 400W on 24/7 with approximately 100 W for fans totalling ~1500 W constantly drawn... is this going to be alot of electricity? Would it red flag power company to alert the leo? He isnt going to do any laundry at his place or use the dishwasher and uses CFL's for all his light fixtures which he only runs while in that specific room.
Energy is .10/kWh so approximately cost $110 a month to run this.
I'm just concerned about his safety and was hoping for someone to shed some light on what kind of power usage is generally safe without attracting any unwanted visitors.
Sorry if this is posted in wrong place, or if there is a better spot for it could a Mod move it? Thanks.

you'd think our tax dollars would be hard at work catching real criminals

As long as the apartment is taxed as a 2br, that is not an unusual draw. It would be seriously sketchy in an efficiency though, lol!

it's a 2 bedroom house from like the 50's. Thanks for the peace of mind,

Check that all circuits you intend to load can actually take the amount of amps that your lights will pull. Just a heads up on that, especially in a house with older wiring.

Stinkyattic is right my house is only 20 years old and i run each 1000w light on a different breaker. Its better to be safe than in jail with a burned down house

Amps=Watts/volts and don't forget about that 15% buffer for inrush current in your figures.
Have a good one!

thanks. Yeah actually the main breaker was replaced recently along with the breakers. He is just going to run each lamp along with the fans that tend to the lamp on the same 15 Amp breaker ie) 1000 watt lamp setup, inline fan to exhaust hot air for one sealed box, and oscilating fan for same sealed box all on same breaker
