I am a first time grower and I have been reading your forums and you all are very impressive with your knowledge! I have a small closet setup, with a DWC hydro with a 18 gallon res. I have 8 females in their seedling stage, and I have my water at ph 5.8. I am worried as I seem to have a mucous-like fungus sticking to the bottoms of the net pots and their roots. I wiped it all off, very gently this am. I was going to change the res, but when I checked it seemed clean so I am waiting. I am nervous, as I want these pretty ladies to survive (4 Paradise Seeds Ice Cream and 4 Nirvana Snow Whites!!). They haven't formed any new growth at all. This is day 8 of seedling stage, with three CFLs providing mostly veg light and small bit of flowering light. Can you save my babies?! Thanks for your expertise and passion for the green!

Hi there...an update. I remembered that there was a filmy growth on one of the net pots I had used in a failed grow a few weeks ago (like a moron I put in seeds I had ordered online and accidently killed them when I put in too much ph down. I learned the hard way, even after reading all the posts by you guys saying to "germ 3 seeds only until you get the hang of hydro growing", like a fool I germed 8 females that cost around $150! What a waste!). Well, I decided to take all the net pots in my setup and scrub them down in the sink with water mixed with GH Florakleen and hot water. Then I cut a small hole in the bottom of the net pots to allow the stems to have access to the res. The mucousy fungus was definitely inhibiting root growth, so I now am waiting to see how they respond to the stress of the transplant. I was very gentle with roots, making sure not too break them off. For now, the waiting game. Also, I have 8 Low Life AK 47/Hindu Kush seedlings in my other closet and they are doing pretty well, so far. They are 1 week old. I hope I get a few females out of them!
