Honey is a waste of money. Use 1 tablespoon molasses to 1 gallon room temperature water. Use approximately every other watering. It's not really a matter of much precision; just don't use a big giant glob of it or anything. It helps the plant put on bulk and resin by providing a source of carbon that it can easily use.

Oh. Yeah, that was the soil amount. I don't really use molasses much in hydro. Sweet seems easier to deal with for hydroponics.
I have used molasses in hydro before but it CAN get gummy and you'll want to run a beneficial bacteria supplement along with it for safety- like SubCulture, for example. Fear the dreaded root rot! rrrar!! rrar!

can molasses cause lock-out?

I've heard of it, but in pretty extreme overdoses, and can't be any more specific. You don't need much to make a difference, and more is not necessarily 'more'.
