Fresno County medical marijuana users will have to wait longer to get cards certifying their prescription.
Medical marijuana users asked the Board of Supervisors to begin issuing those cards. A state law requires all counties to give out cards to those who are under doctor's orders to use the drug. But currently Fresno county does not comply with the law. The Board of Supervisors decided to wait as a higher court is reviewing the legality of California's Medical Marijuana laws. Patients say without the ID they face arrest.

Dawn Nolan, Medical Marijuana User: "If my care provider's card doesn't look reliable."

The Board of Supervisors are expected to take up the issue in September. Many have said they are reluctant to issue cards & Concerned that illegal marijuana use could increase.

This is one of the things I dislike about the Cali system. Registration Cards!!!! No thanks. This should be kept between the doctor and the patient
