What effects on the plant will starting an outdoor grow to late in the year?

I wouldnt try it. Not in NC. You gotta think... It takes a MJ plant at least 3 months outdoors to become fully mature enough to harvest. At the very least! Also you have winters that start in like late September early Oct. The plant would be ready by then. Not to mention your days are almost too short for veg.
Of course you can always try and see what happens. But once that first frost hits your plant is DONE!!

I've actually planted outside in mid-july and gotten a usable amount of bud. Of course, the plant won't get much bigger than a ruderalis hybrid (like a foot tall) before the flowering starts.
