I tried it at 14
Started smoking fully about 21
I would wait till 18 or 20 and let yourself grow as much as you can first

I started this past fall. (I'm 17). I don't recommend for anyone under 18 to start smoking. I had a lot of potential in school. I have/had very smart relatives, and my family, in general, is smart. But i started smoking pot, and eventually i was smoking on school nights instead of studying. It fucked up my life, and now i'm looking at going to a community college after i graduate. That's a first hand experience. Now of course not everyone fucks up in school becasue of pot. But if you start smoking instead of doing your work, you're fucked. Peace.

I think freshmen year in highschool is perfect. That year you fully develop, and you meet alot of people when you smoke, so that helps. That's when I started, and it helped me mellow out. But don't let it control your life, make sure you aren't spending too much money, or smoking too much. One night of getting really high on the weekends is good :), thats what I did, and still do.

 None of you are going to like what I have to say but just remember that it is only my opinion....ok....here goes.

As a mother of a 12 year old son and being a medical toker, (I have Multiple Sclerosis), I would like it if my son never actually got involved with drugs. With it being one of those things that is so readily available I know that I am living in a parents daydream....lol. For me if its going to be one of those things that he chooses to do then I would like to hope that he would wait until he was 18....(hears you all ghasp)...lol.

I am a toker, a grower, a sometimes I sell but never has my son seen anything to do with cannabis in my home. It is just the way that I do things in my house and I am not trying to preach my veiws. My hubby and I don't even smoke around our neices or nephews and some of them are in their 20s. Its just the way things are......

Whos fault is that? Yours or weed? I think we both know the answer. Don't blame the drug for your lack of responsability. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, its just you have to be responsible when you use drugs. I started when i was 15.

Simple, there is NOT much more to life than school. The results of high school always negate what you'll do with the rest of your life. Maybe when my education is all over and done with, there will be much more to life, but as of now, there's not much more to life.

but try and keep up in school...i no b4 i started smoking i didnt give a rats ass about school....now i care even less....not saying its the drugs fault but weed makes u lazy and its tru and u guys can say it doesnt but in most ppl it makes them lazier

o and for the person who said school isnt a big deal in life....goodluck finding a job and being able to support urself....do your drugs and have fun...i know i do...but when its time to buckle down u better buckle down or ull regret it forever when ur pumping gas for minimum wage

I don't think that was what he was implying. I think he was saying that its not as big of a deal as people would have you believe. The teachers all fill you up with idea that if you fail your whole life is over, which isn't true at all. Life is full oppertunities (sp?) Just because you may fail school your first time doesn't mean you'll be a hobo for the rest of your life. You can go to college whenever you want and take courses, well i think you can lol. You can take courses to get your ged or whatever you need, go to a community college and start over. I think that's what he was trying to say.

Apparantly those who smoke under 14 are much much more suseptable to the damage, my mate started smokin at about 12 an he was your typical slightly dopey, had a stupid laugh stonery type for about 2 years after he quit completely (apart from the very, very rare toke) hes alright now, a lot more of a clearer, more "with it person"

Whereas all the slightly later starters including myself (around the age of 16) I think my first was about a month before 16, havnt had any problems, and I am a daily toker.

Regardless, I think 90% of it depends on the person.,

The correct age to start? You can't put an age on it, I was ready when I started, I had opportunities earlier in life but passed them by and I think it was for the best and I'm glad I left it till about 16, but thats just me!

i always found that rolling a spliff and letting it sit their on the desk as i worked worked wonders for my efficiency! and the feeling of finishing your work and having a spliff right their to smoke is hard to beat... any of you people out their still at school should try it

smoking before high school is pointless and stupid. middle school is easy.
