Hi everyone, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

I am new to this site (bummed I did not discover it long ago) and have been amazed with all the stuff I have been reading on this forum about drug testing.

Basically, I have been a smoker pretty much everyday for the last 8 years...I stopped months ago but am still getting faint lines onhome tests and that makes me verrrrrry uncomfortable. I am getting a job at a hospital and Knew ahead of time that they drug test and possiby random test. I really need this job and I am licensed so if I fail it could be a BIG problem for my career. Needless to say I was always very afraid of subbing but reading about all the success stories has made me feel like this is totally for me since I don't want to give it up for the rest of my life. :-(

I am going to buy QF and have a plan to use it there. I've been reading alot about this on this site so I think I get how it works...but just a few questions...that I am hoping some of you fine ppl could help me with:

1. The whole temp situation..it seems like some ppl say the strip on the side of the QF bottle isnt enough...should I be bringing in a thermometer? I purchased those strips that you put on the baby's chest.will those work? I am afraid of the digi beeping

2. Does anyone know if they observe you at Quest Labs..it seems like the general opinion is that they don't come in unless you give them a reason

3. What is easier, bottle or condom?

4. I found QF 4.0 and QF 4.2 online...which is better?

I am sooo nervous and desperately need this job..if someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated... thanks!! ;)

Enjoy the fireworks!

I have done Quest many times and I think most of Your questions might be answered in the link below...

4.2 is the newest version but 4.0 works fine

I just found out that there is no such thing as Quick Fix 4.2.

The only place online I found it at was Amazon.com and I thought that was sketchy. I ordered over the phone at QuickFix.com and the lady told me it's an error and they've been trying to get Amazon to change it. The newest formula still is 4.0. Apparently Amazon either made a mistake or they're false advertising to get people to buy it...just thought I'd pass that along. Good luck! I'm the same boat :)

Well thats strange but I did notice that the box looked the same. The only thing I would think is if You called spectrum labs @ urineluck.com I also don't find a QF.com. I type Your link in and it takes Me to homelandforensics. Are You sure You were talking to Spectrum Laboratories (800) 270-8142, The maker of QF? I just called after hours and they don't know the current formula because they are the answering service for orders only. I did call during the day and thats where the lab told Me that 4.0 and 4.2 both work the same and they do have 4.2. The formula order is (I believe) Quick Fix 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 4.2

Hi birdgirl73, I just read Your post about the commercial links. I hope I didn't do the same thing above.

Doesn't seem to be any QF 4.2 just the same 4.0
urineluck. com /ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=QFIX

If you've been clean for months you're probably fine to use your own urine. A faint thc line is normal.
Bottles work the best. I don't like the squirt tip. Sometimes it makes noise.
I use a digital thermometer because sometimes the temp can be a little high or low and you can't tell which by feel. So the thermometer is good for double checking.

Would it be better to "crotch" the QF bottle or use the heat pad or both? I will be taking a test next week and will be going straight from work to the hospital just blocks away. No microwave access. I have had the test there before and they take the sample and test the temp right away.

So, should I just crotch the bottle a few hours before the test and keep it there until I take the test?

Or should I use the heat pad and put it on the bottle about 2 hours ahead of time?

I am worried about the temp because I know they take the temp right away. I just want to know what provides the most constant 95 - 100 degree temp?

Experiment with it. QF can be reheated numerous times. Most of us crotch it after nuking it for 10 seconds. Nuke it and get the temp around 99 and put it in your crotch. It will stay within range for 2 to 3 hours.

Doesn't seem to be any QF 4.2 just the same 4.0 Killer, Jeffman is actually right about QF 4.2 (good ear to the ground there Jeff:thumbsup:). Its slowly being phased in, which is probably the reason why Spectrum is holding back on updating their website, to include the new QF 4.2.
Admittedly my eyebrows were raised when Jeff first broke the news on another thread a few days ago. I did phoned Spectrum, and the lady rep did confirm to me about QF 4.2. She didnt want to go into hard details, but she did inform that the QF 4.0 is still good as long as the batch number ends in "06" and later (the batch number is found on the enclosed instructions sheet inside the box. The batch number translates the date of manufacture)... 4.0's with a batch numbers ending in "03"-"05" are currently on the recall list and should be exchanged at Spectrum Labs.

When I asked the rep of any physical differences or any constituential changes made to the QF, she replied that the 4.2 will still be in the same 2 oz bottle as the 4.0 and basic formulation remains unchanged. Prices are the same between the 4.0 and 4.2. All of her answers, however brief, led me to believe that the 4.2 is being phased in slowly.

I fully expect 4.2 to officially replace 4.0 by the start of the new decade. The 4.0, a formulation in its fifth year (as of this writing), is becoming old. I was there when 3.0 was the formulation and the 3.0 didnt enjoy such a long run like its 4.0 successor.

Thanks for the info everyone..

Do we have a definitive reason as to why batches ending in #s 03-05 are on recall? Were people failing tests?

Hey Burnt Toast, Great info. To tell You the truth I forgot all about it this morning. I knew they didn't want to start a panic so they seem to release less and less information about 4.2. but I didn't realize the 4.2 news would be so hard to put out there. You know it seemed like a good idea at the time to tell people what My cousin told Me but I took a little heat here and on another board until like You, 1tokeovertheline came to My rescue. I think next time I will wait for the official release. Thanks

Thanks for the info everyone..

Do we have a definitive reason as to why batches ending in #s 03-05 are on recall? Because those batches are over the 2 year shelf life. Batches ending in "03" were made in 2003. "05" batches were made in 2005.

Wonder if its just a marketing ploy then. If there's no difference why 4.2?

Ok...soooo I just went to the store and picked up a digi thermometer and they all beep! Right now I am trying to rig one so it won't make noise but I am not successful at this point...any ideas, recommendations? Thanks

One thing I've heard and read was they sell baby temperature strips that stick to the baby's head and some one right here not to long ago bought one and said it stuck right on the plastic bottle he had the sample in.

Yep, I used a baby temp strip. Found it at Walgreens (didn't have it at my WalMart). Worked like a charm. About $2. :):)
