nutrient question for growing outdoors

i found the perfect place to do it... (yes, i know , its late... but i will give it a try)

i was wondering:

do you use nutrients and what not for growing outdoors?

is growing outdoors just like growing indoors ?

(ex, same steps.. nutrients , etc etc)
