I have been growing my girls under a 600W dual spectrum HPS lamp. They are growing only very slowly and the edges of the leaves went yellow then brown and look like they are dying. The lamp is about 3-4 feet from the plants. I have seen pictures of the nutrient deficiency porblems and it doesn't really look like this. Is it likely to be too hot? I also got the impression that the would grow fairly quickly. They are currently only about 3 inches tall with about 6 leaves. Please help.

Answer as many of these questions as you can; at least the ones that apply to your grow.
Pictures are also very helpful.
What you describe sounds like too MUCH fertilizer and/or a pH problem.

Thanks for the reply. This started to happen way before I started to use any type of fertiliser. I am using a soil designed for seeds and cuttings which is non-acidic and containing peat. I think that they are buring, the edges are crispy and dry. I have tried adding a picture but my camera is playing up!

Peat is acidic by its nature, and if there is not any limestone left in the seedling soil, it will have an acid pH.
How long have the plants been in the same pots? Often transplanting to fresh soil will help solve problems. But you still need to know if you soil is causing a problem.
