HI All. I have 4 plants on the 5th week of vegetative grouth and they started to pre flower, the problem is i can't tell if they are male or female. Question, i notice some of the plants have a intense scent while the others don't, could this be a sign of male and female?

Thanks for your post. But i'm still confused, you see i've been looking at pictures as the ones you posted but i'm not getting anywhere. This plants haven't had the best of conditions to grow and they are quite small. That's why i was trying to see the difference thru they're scent.

Not all plants show preflowers in veg. Most don't show sex until 1-3 weeks into 12/12 flowering cycle. A plant is ready for flowering when it's about 12-15 inches tall and has good root development. IMO.
Smell will not help determine sex...unless your're a beagle...;)

another way you can tell is that the females will be much shorter then the males, but you should really look for the pre flowers like said above, try getting a magnifying glass and look really carefully, my advice mate :rasta:

:) cheers mate. Let me explain exactly what's going on. This is the second time that i'm growing, the 1st time i had all females plus all conditions (lights, fans, etc...) but this time i have them on a window only so they have been siting there for a few months they have actually grown but they are very small around 9 inchs. No need to say that i had all sorts of problems with them. But thanks for trying to help, i think that i'm going to put them on 10/14 hour cicle and hope for the best. When i bought the seeds they said inthe store that i cold be lucky and get all females from the bag. 'll keep posted. They are skunk#1 by the way.

PS - I don't count the first 2 weeks because they barely had any light at all and they took ages to start getting leaves. And i know i bring shame for all ganja growers.

The ONLY way to tell male and female is by looking at the preflowers. Variations in height can mean many things. That's not a good clue.
