i started with bagseed. then i ordered some afghani and white widow through a trusted company.;)

first pic is the veg side of my closet. then one of my 2 bagseed plants, 3rd is the baby afghani family, and my current temp (lights on.)

havent started the WWs yet cause i am not comfortable starting them with no Ph meter. think thats the reason my other plants grew so slowly.:wtf: btw, bagseed is 1 mo old, afghanis are 2 weeks.

questions, comments? much appreciated

whats a good anti-damp-off solution that i can use for cloning?:thumbsup:

also would anyone recommend "super soil" or "organic sunshine"?

saw some female preflowers on the clone and my flouros arent cutting it so i put her into the flower chamber under a 400hps.

with the hps running all day the temps have risen and the humidity dropped (only on the flower side. veg side has remained the same.) think i may have to turn up the AC.

ok seems like we're getting somewhere. my P3 (prototype. my first bagseed) has just turned out to be a female a couple days ago. at first i saw a little nad like thing, but then a little white hair protruded from it. hopefully another hair will show.

heres the veg side of my closet. first, 5 WW and 2 afghan seedlings

heres my afghans that may never ever mature. ive over nuted them and theyve been stunted since. (that little one on the left, i actually broke the main stem when it was 3 days old and i didnt have the heart to kill it. hasnt grown much though.)

this is my P2 bagseed. also just turned female! so far, i have a 100% female rate, (2 out of 2 so far) but a 50% mortality rate (2 of my afghans died, one of my randoms died, one had to be moved outside, and one of my prototypes died (eaten.)

this is the dog that got it. poor guy broke his leg. not saying justice was served but this is a prime example of karma. (i didnt brake his leg. he was hit by a car when my brothers girl was watching him.)

yes my P2 and P3 are both female! so far i plan to flower P3 and hope for the dankest shiizah. im going to keep P2 in veg and try my hand at cloning.

damn, the plant that i put outside (over nuted, thought was a goner,) not even a month old, under a foot tall, just turned FEMALE! whoo hooo!!! i hope she makes it with out any sex changes...

found a muffin fan from buyextras.com for $20. comes with fan speed controler right on the AC plug. so theres no sketchy wiring you have to do. its rated at 70 something CFM and is 4.7 " in diameter. im using this for a "forced" intake. my exhaust is rated at 170 CFM but i estimate 120-140 CFM (after ductwork.)

yeah i do work a full time job and on my days off i usually tend to my plants or take the next step in upgrading. thanks for stopping in.

ive learned to flush properly (i think. still feel like im overwatering) and the importance of easing in the nutes. took me a while even after ive read the theory over and over. just didnt sink in till i killed a plant or two.

yeah i love that dog. its not even my dog (its my bros) but its like tha family dog. lol im not into animal cruelty. even if that dog cost me thousands i dont think i could... no id probably hurt it then. btw he just got his cast off. i put some pics up maybe tomorrow.

Nice grow for the first time It looks like you will get some great medicene when done. I wouldnt worry about a PH meter. Sure the meter is fine, but imo just an added expense. I grow without a ph meter and have been for years (medical patient). As long as the water is ph balanced before watering ph balanced soil you will be fine! I do like your plants though and keep up the good work.

hey everyone. been real busy with work lately, and its been getting dryer and dryer (the prices been going higher and higher.) almost $20 a gram. if you and find. and there dosent seem to be any breaks for buying in bulk. the fucking drug war. maybe we should start using it to our advantage:rastasmoke:$$:stoned:

first is my P2 bagseed. i seem to be having trouble with my leaves drying up and crumbling. but if you care to view teh thread, look in "plant problems", "sick plant?". about 50 days old.

this is my afghan that survived my over nuting/ over watering. it may never grow...:(

and this is a cloning chamber ive made and have yet to try my luck on. thinking i wanna go hydro, but i think i need more experince first. maybe i should build a little bubbler or something (i made a waterfarm from plans on the internet. but ive yet to try it out.)

here we have my first attempt at cloning. first i watered the mother with plain water 30 minutes prior. i got all my supplies together, cloning solution (im using olivia's cloning solution and thrive alive B1 rooting solution. Ph 7.4 and 300-400 ppm.) razor blades, alcohol, humidity dome all set up, the whole shebhang.

then i cut 4 lower branches that were still relatively new, removed the lower node (leaves) and trimmed the set(s) above. all individually and then immediatly into the cloning solution for about 5 minutes.

from there into teh rockwool cubes and into the humidty dome. i lightly sprayed the clones with a light neem solution to keep the bugs at bay. i also sprayed the dome a little more liberally.

:(ahh man. bad news. in the past couple days, ive pulled 5 hermie flowers off my WW clone. they didnt seem open, but i do see some seeds poping theyre little green heads out of her/his little frosty buds. :wtf:

dosent seem to have affected the other plants though (if it does, i might get some bad ass fem strains.) i couldnt take any pictures of the male flowers cause they were small and it seemed pointless (who wants to see male flowers? i dont) but they looked like little bananas. yelllow. very dissapointing. :(

i guess she has gone through some stress, (i bent a branch once but it didnt snap,) and when i first set up my closet, there were some minor light leaks but i fixed em (many minutes of sitting in pitch black all by myself. lots of duckt tape and mylar. still are but it really is pitch black in there.) or maybe just my newbie abuse in general. the world may never know... (im still gonna smoke her.) ill post pics when they look good.:hippy:

Joe,

Don't worry about stress. Why do you think they call it Low Stress Training. I use bent coat hangers as stakes when I LST. It makes it easy and will not strangle the plant.

i havent posted in a while cause... i havent seen much growth. particularly in the flowers. i think i have a couple hermies. i pinched some male flowers off, about 5 or 6, and i see some seeds poking theyre way up. mostly on the bagseed though. whew. more bagseeds. whoo hoo...

The plants still look great......sorry about the hermies....but if you dont make mistakes you can never learn....these little mistakes will eventually make you a better grower.....great log joedirte....looking forward to your next grow which im sure will be much improved because of the hard lesson! :thumbsup:

thanks killa. yeah hopefully ill have a better idea of how to keep the hermies out next time around. i think it was either a light leak (fixed but still needs improvement,) or just a shitty femenized strain (it was a clone from a friend.) any way, the plant is 41 days into flower today, and i think im gonna harvest her at 54 days.

im growing somemore WWs and afghans (from AMS) and theyre looking very healthy. but i cant post pics still.i dunno why. oh and nice looking dog. i got one (a pit/lab) and he just got his cast off. after that, he just SHOT UP! hes still kinda small, but he grew alot.

next is my white widow clone. im gonna harvest her soon. i snuck a bud the other day, dried it in the microwave, and then finished drying it behind the xbox. came out TASTY!!! and very stony as well. smelled sooo good, and after smoking it, i could taste it on my breath in the shower like, 10 minutes later. this was a hermied plant, but im happy. i havent caught any male flowers for like 2 weeks. some seeds on the lower buds though. oh well. 41 days into flower. ill wait till like 50-54.

third is my P3 bagseed experiment. 30 days into flower. im seein purple streaks on the calyxes, but not to much resin, nor much stink.

whatup everyone. just got the CF in the mail. its a 25"x5" Active Air filter weighting in at 16 lbs ($55 at hydroponics.net.) i also ordered the matching 4" flange, a 6" 235 cfm vortex powerfan (to assist with the existing 4",) 4" and 6" ducting.

first, i duct taped the flange to the filter. you can drill holes and add screws for added support, but tape was all i needed for this one cause there shouldnt be much stress on the inlet (of the filter.) the i positioned the filter in my "box" (im using a 26" rubbermaid container) making sure somethings' underneath the filter, supporting it about 1" off the ground. you dont want the filter just sitting on the ground. the more surface area, the better.

then i marked the 4" inlet (actually exhaust) where i will cut a hole for the filter. then into the garage, where i cut the 4"hole i marked off on the box using a hole saw. i also make a 6" hole about 3 inches away (for the pressurized intake.) after cleaning out all the crap, back into the grow room.

the third pic is the 2 holes im talking about above. also the filter is held in place with duct tape (dosent have to be rock solid. were not goiing off roading or anything.)

finally, (not really,) i attached a length of 4" ducting to the filter inlet, through the 4" hole i cut. i did this before the box was installed because this seal has to be right on tight. again, im just using duct tape.

the intake is in the veg side--> reflector--->6" fan---> filter in a box--->4" fan---> outside finally!

pics 3&4 are my crazy ventilation system. all hooked up and beefed up! i know it seems like kindof an overkill, but it works really good. there are alot of twists and turns in the ducting, but with 2 fans and plenty of slack (in the ducting,) no problem.

last is my 4" fan that exhausts all the filtered out of the room.

nice work man, just wanna throw a lil advice your way. each time your hose/duct bends 90% it decreases the efficiency of the fan by like 60%... I had high temps for a while (and four 90 degree turns) just streamlined it to a straightaway and it stays 75 in there.

ive been looking into getting a vaporizer lately and am thinking of getting the silver surfer vaporizer (SSV.) either that or spend $500 on a volcano.

my LST experiment plant (WW4) has just been confirmed female! that leaves me with 4-5/7 plants, female. 3 still to show sex. i put the ww4 in flower.

i also started flushing my WW clone. shes about 45 days right now, and ill wait another 2-3 days. the top half is looking especially ripe. no more white pistils and almost 50% cloudy trichs.

hydro: ive been using the foxfarm line from the beginning. i also use some thrive alive B1 green for seedlings and clones. and to give the roots a boost. if they need it (but they never do.) uhh, neem oil, molassas, peroxide. i got some hygrozyme but ive never used it. for soil i use a mixture of "organic sunshine" and "black gold" potting soils, mixed with about 1/4 perlite. some worm casting or manure if you got em. i may have some nice green leaves, but im still a noob and i gotta get my yeild up.

zessley: ill see if they got em at the local headshop. the only other vapes ive tried are the vaporbrother box (shitty) and the volcano (fucking executive.) i might splurge on the volc, but i would also want something differint and maybe not so big/bulky/expensive. but easy to use, healthy, hits fat, ill shutup now.

the white widow im gonna harvest soon is about 47 days into flower. the shorter one in front (its proped up on an upsidedown pot so its even with the other plants) is 2 days behind. and the other bagseeds ive lost track. ill just harvest when theyre ripe.

finally got around to harvesting! it was about 56 days for my white widow clone, and i decided to harvest her i two phases. first the top of the plant, which yeilded about 18 dry grams, then the bottom a couple days later, im guesing around 25 dry grams. so more than an ounce off my first plant, and its a clone! im happy:D

puff: always from start of 12 12. the trichs were about 80% cloudy with little or no amber. i just wanted to get my first harvest underway. maybe about 10% clear trichs still. keep in mind this is a clone, and will mature faster than a plant form seed. i got 4 more WW females about 1.5 months into veg that are going right into the flower room as soon as i make space!! and one afghan.

10-15 ounces you say? i woundnt get your hopes up. better to aim low and be astonished than to have high hopes and be dissapointed. i was thinking i was gonna get only a half-0 from this plant but now its looking like alot more. ive read this "theory" somewhere else too. especially helpful with first grows/ first timers (like myself)

the high is a happy uplifting high! very happy and makes me wanna do things. like things i normaly dont wanna do (laundry, dishes, work, etc.) also tastes very clean and fresh, neutral in flavor. i think i would like a heavier, more indica smoke next round.

i also got about 20 seeds off this man-whore of a plant. hopefull theyre all WW x WW. and they ought to be feminized.:rastasmoke::rastasmoke:

a little harsh at first, but after a week or so of curing it was very pleasant. dosent have any distinguishable taste, definetly fresh, good. it does that that slight coffee aroma. i think i should have waited longer to harvest, you might want to.

anyway, heres the process of the harvest of my "mystery skunk!" i must say, this is the best week ive grown YET. it smells f-n AWSOME!!!. super strong pungent skunk/perfume fragrance with that good coffee aroma from proper curing and drying. sad to say im already down to my last 10- grams. but yo can see it weighed in at just under an ounce, but probably wouldve wighed more cuz i sampled nugs premature.:stoned:

first two pics are a purple pheno bagseed. i think it was P3. any way, it went crazy hermie on me and the weed fukin suked. some of it was pretty good (oddly, the purple parts. in this plant, the colas that recieved the most sunlight turned purple.) but most of it was seeded out shit.

k. heres a pic of today. first one is an afghan (right,) a white widow (left) and a lst'd white widow (front.)

2nd is another bagseed. i think P2. or the other way around. any way, this bagseed is all frosted over, pretty dense and almost ready for flusing.

third is two more WWs in veg, waiting for space for flower.

these are my Big Bang seedling. feminized from GH. 5 out of 5 sprouted. im happy.

these things in back are my clones. theyre striving, perhaps too much. i need to transplANT. whooops hit the caps.:rastasmoke:

i now have a seperate log for my big bangs. i hope they come out nice. if i have some time i might take some clones. anyway, heres the clones i took off my P3 plant. i just transplanted them and will probably flower them in these 1 gallon pots(they didnt have much of a root ball when i transplanted.)
theyre momma is gonna be harvested later this week.

second pic is the flower side redone a little so i can fit 6 hefty ladies in there with out much trouble.
