BHO Help: Don't have enough to fill turkey baster!

Only can get it filled about half-way. Is that going to be a problem? If so, can I fill in the dead space with anything? Any suggestions?

I think it would be ok... but im not experienced with making BHO, so it would be better wait for a more knowledgeable answer.

Not having read any previous BHO threads, I am assuming you are using the turkey baster as the cylinder that holds the plant matter...if that is the case, yes, just use what you have, don't fill it with anything else.

Well, these forums are a bit slow at times, so I gave something a try. Every BHO tek/tutorial I've read mentions filling the tube it all the way, so I wasn't comfortable running the butane through a half-filled tube. I used aluminum screen on the end for a filter (plus a "disk" of coffee filter) since it doesn't corrode. What I did was cut up some strips of screen, folded them up accordion style, and filled the gap. I figured it wouldn't react with the butane, so why not?

The pan is outside in its bath now, and everything looks as it should...have some nice bubbles in there. I should mention that this is my first attempt at BHO. Used a stainless steel turkey baster and 2 small cans of Colibri.

In addition, I'm considering doing an ISO quick wash with the plant matter matter remains when it dries. Anyone think it's worth it? Bad idea?

Did the turkey baster hold the pressure in ok?
BHO is very smooth. It needs no other cleaning. Just let it sit till the butane is all bubbled off.
Smear a little on bowl of weed and enjoy. It doesn't take much.

A bit of butane seemed to shoot out the sides of the bottom of the tube a little bit, but its quite hot and humid right now where I am....I'm new to this so I'm not sure whether I lost butane to the wind or if what I saw was very cold air vapors or something. Might need to try another filter next time....the coffee filter disk I had inside the filter might have been better off as a whole coffee filter on the outside.

It would be a good idea, as only one extraction usually isnt enough to extract all the THC from the weed.

You can get this stuff at the local hardware store for cheap and it works good. Drill one hole in one end for the butane and drill 5 or 6 holes on the other end with a piece of coffee filter stuffed in the bottom. Just hold the butane to the end until empty then hit it with another one.

i just wanted to tell u what i do to make me small amounts of BHO..
i have a small glass flask/vial ca 10cm long and 1.5cm wide.
and in the bottom i used a glass cutting bit for my dremel, and made i little hole in the bottom.
then i cut out a circle of coffey filter to put in the bottom and a pipe screen on top of that to hold it in place.
and then i actually use hash ground to a fine powder. there arent much buds around here :( have to grow it myself if i want some.. but anyways..
with the filter and powder hash in the vial, just screw the bottle top on and gas it up.. then i collect the golden drops in a shot glass standing in a sligthly bigger glass with hot water to help evaporation..
from 4-5grams of hash i get about 1-1.3 grams of BHO. sometimes maybe alittle more or less..

btw. you migth want to put some ducttape or something around the bottle, it gets very cold..
