I was just wondering if and how many people on this forum have successfully grown kickass bagseed

I'd also like any opinions on good genetics vs. good TLC and to what degree you think both matter?

Heh I'd really like to see a beautiful sticky plant grown from fugly supposedly low quality brick. A friend of mine tried it from her bagseed-silo and ended up with a 3ft Christmas tree that had a sour-mango smell. It still had that beaster punch in the head kind of stone x10, though. Foxfarm Seafood:thumbsup:

Post pics if ya got em

My question is.......if you plant enough bag seed will you eventually luck into a killer momma, or is it a case of poor genetics win out? Keep in mind, there's no killer strains where I am, so we are talking brick around here. :stoned:

You might have some bad growers, in which case, the seeds might have good genetics, and you could bring its true potential to light.

or maybe the growers are decent, and its bad genetics, in which case, you would have bad pot either way.

theres some of the worlds best up here in Norcal so bagseed has a whole different meaning here :)

That's what I'm sayin :rasta:Heck, Diesel originally came from Colorado bagseed and some other reputed staples.

Keeko and Rev those grows look fucking nutz, beautiful. Keeko, what nutes did you use to finish?

Now I should probly devote another post to this...but in my outdoor multiple-bag seed grow I think I have a hermie. Look at the pics I dunno. Either way the plant is like5 or 6 weeks old tops, sprouted indoors under two 2ft T5's SHOULD IT ALREADY BE SHOWING GENDER SIGNS? As you can see it's only 3 leafed tops and the area is plenty sunny. The others in similar sized pots are MUCH larger...dunno if these sacs, which already look frosty-are the male-balls but they seem to be more like premature seed sacs? Sorry these pics are with my laptop cam.

SO what do I have here people?...Is this mate-able, cloneable er wha? It's showing the female pistils but why so early and that big???

As it is I'm sorta looking forward to not pulling some strong males so all the diff bagseed types from jersey, vermont and even cali just have one big cluster fuck...mwuahahahaaha

Take cuttings of all your plants, label them, and when the clone donor finishes, do a smoke test, see if you like it, if the plant yielded well, didn't herm, and was vigorous- if you think it's a good plant, there ya go, you have a mother. Doesn't matter much if she has a fancy name, as long as you are getting nice buds.

By "Bagseed" do you mean some regular ole' swag weed? Or, a bag of some pretty dank fluffy nug weed that only had like 2 seeds in it?

Its prolly flowering early because its an early flowering plant. What light schedule do you have it on?

i would label it beasters.....didnt have too many seeds but looked like it had been handled poorly.

cayu-i used foxfarm tiger bloom and calmag with added mollasses. nothing fancy.

i think of bagseed as an unknown strain/mexican brick/an f1 that has not been stablized.either way you look at it you can still get dam good bud from any of it..ive grown some brick that i would not smoke.but with a little TLC it becomes what most consider KB

Heh northeastern outdoor kinda light sched...Never had a strictly 3 leaf'd type let alone one flowering this early or that short but hey, it looks like I'm finally lucky enough to have one that will finish by August-ish? Be nice if it were a true auto-flower then I really would be inclined to take a clipping.;)

80% genetics, 20% environment.

The above ratio looks quite sad to most without access to brand name seeds from banks and such.

However, the environment is what allows the genetics to reach their full potential.

The majority of the erb in my area is kinda gross compressed mexi-brick with many, many seeds. These are the only seeds I have access to.

However, I grow sticky, crystally sinsemilla.

Merely by growing a sinsemilla crop, the potency is automatically doubled (at least, if not tripled) from the original bag of erb, which was full of seeds.

Then remove the variables of poor handling and compression etc and the potency is further increased.

We go from seedy mexi-brick with very low potency (probably 2-3% THC?) and a very nasty taste (from contaminants to pesticides, etc)

to a nice sinsemilla crop with triple or quadruple the potency and a great taste, merely by improving the environment.

Starting with brand name genetics is great if you can.

But if all you have is crap weed, and crap weed is all you are conditioned to smoking, you will definitely be in for a nice surprise if you grow those crap weed seeds out correctly with lots of TLC.

Cool shit big johnson, those yours?

Here are a couple of my other pet projects, one is my 1st rubbermaid grow attempt, the tube you see is the C02 delivery (lil holes in it) system from the lower compartment of the two- as the plant sits in the middle on the upside down lid covered in foil tape. Yes, I like to experiment. This was high quality bagseed. Mighty cerebral, s'all I know.

These crummy pictures of one of my babie's with pretty bad mite damage, but thats the worst of the plant and I've sprayed since. Hadn't gone out to the site thats why. BUT I'm still in good spirits because thats not even the biggest leaf, and my hands are NOT small.:greenthumb: Happy Frog Organic Soil gifted to me mixed with Foxfarm Seafood organic soil I had left over from last season, what the hell, ay? These are also high quality bagseed...apparently a strain from California doing damn good overall here in the N/E sofar. It's about 3 ft tall after maybe 6 er 7 weeks?
