my medium is hydroton when i move the babies right now we have them in miracle grow with nutes . We did have them in vermiculite to start but were havin some problems so we transfered the babies into this miracle grow with nutes for now and oh man the exploded in 2 days doubled the water leaves and shedded the stem to a lucious green lookin good so far i think lol this is first grow will be posting more pics today . will be using a pure blend product for food when transfered . HEY SUPER SKUNK WHATS UP MAN question for ya how many you think i could get away with growing under these lights there the larger lumen output cf's they produce very close to what 1 400w hps puts out and i will have 3 - 325 lumen regular cool white floros under them when they get a lil taller was hoping to do at least 6 in there maybe 8 do u think it is possible . My buddy wants to change to soil being this our first grow but i wanna use the hydro method . We have a old time grower helpin us he has quite the bit of knowledge but i always like a few more opinions would it be easier to grow in the soil or hydro for new growers . we also just threw in 2 cali orange and 2 shiva shanti last night will be posting more pics tonight all veiwers welcomed . Super get back to me on that man .

I couldn't give you an exact, accurate number, but I know for a fact many professional growers like Ed Rosenthal and Greg Green recommend at least least 20 watts per square feet.

Well, going soil for the first time would be a good idea, because soil grown plants are more forgiving (overfertilization, etc). If something goes wrong in a hyroponic system, the plant can die in just a matter of hours. But, if you do alot of research and buy books, you can pull a hydroponic grow off. Books are a must. Me, I like hydroponics because it provides 300% growth compared to the soil growing method.

But remember, the more (useable) light that you give your plants, the better the quality.

ya thanks man i think were gonna go with soil this time . I hope it turns out good everyday there gettin better and better i havent put pics in yet still plan on doing that tonight . Hey SUPER SKUNK what type of soil do u recommend for when we decide to do our next and final transfer threw flowering . and have u ever heard a a real small plant being any strain harvesting at 42 days of flowering . Just curious we were gonna let most of them veg and sex them then drive some back into veg but flower like 1 to see how good it is . My buddy said he found a thread that said from seed to bud in 42 days i havent seen this thread nor do i believe it but what do u think i know some strains flower earlier then other but this guy was saying from seed to harvest 42 days small plant. high quality?? just curious

I would recommend peat moss. Below, there is a link. There are three cannabis species: Sativa, indica, and ruderalis.

Greg Green:
Ruderalis is a problematic plant. It does not produce large amounts of THC or flower like the other species . Ruderalis is considered a substandard by most growers because it flowres by age not, not according to the photoperiod. This means that the Ruderalis cannabis plant will flower when it is mature enough to do so and this flowering action is 'out of the growers hands', so to speak... however, the autoflowering properties of this plant make it hard to control. Trying to clone a Ruderalis is nearly impossible because it is very hard to force the the clone to remain in the vegetative growth stage of the plant's cycle. Photoperiod manipulation does not work with the Ruderalis plants. The plant that you mentioned is probably (more than likely) a ruderalis hybrid, meaning that which ever species (indica or sativa was breeded (or mated) with the ruderalis species. The outcome was a mix of the indica or sativa, and ruderalis. This is called a hybrid (the offspring of two plants of different species or a varieties of species). The strain 'Trainwreck' is a good example of a ruderalis (I can't recall whether it contains the indica or sativa species) hybrid. The properties of the ruderalis plant are off setted a little by the other species that it is mixed with. That is why 'Trainwreck' matures pass what is normally expected of the ruderalis species.

HEY SUPER SKUNK need a lil help man , you know how i told you my buddy and i are going with soil well we got the peat moss but we were gonna wait till they were a lil bigger before we transplanted them . Well we were lookin at the cups with the miracle grow we have them in now and bam there it was MOLD being first time growers we didnt know what to do but i know mold is bad and it was forming in all the cups on the top of the soil. i know it sux to transplant but we had to again 2nd time and there not that old . we washed the roots with sterile water but didnt get all the former dirt off but most of it. heard some roots tearing but we got most of the roots on all plants . they were nice and white . question is to u think they will survive the transplant into peatmoss we put them all in bigger containers hoping to not have to transplant again . should we have left them in the miracle grow cups with mold being in the cups ?? we were scared they would die from the mold but im new so i dont know let me know what ya think SUPER SKUNK thanks for your help bro .

as you can see in this is a cluster **** right now after emergency transplant only temperary . We added 2 more compact floros 65w that hook in to a flood light setup actually pretty cheap set up just to add in for the bottoms of the plants during flower for more light they are blue spec. was thinkin about tryin to find a red spec. for 1 side instead of 2 blue specs . We will be updating this thread with pics every 1-3 days throughout the grow. any comments are appreciated . SUPER SKUNK READ MY POST UP ABOVE

well was having nothing but problems with yellowing and so instead of messin with it this time we will do it in soil will go back to hydro eventually just because i like that taste of hydro better i know it sux but hey what do ya do . My buddy and i came to a conclusion for our first grow we will do soil as it is a lil easier. Do u think that those pots are big enough for the whole grow . Now i have 3strains goin right now does anyone know about (ruderalis) im not sure if the 3 strains i have are ruderalis or not the 3 i have are Inca Spirit , Shiva Shanti , and california orange . Are these all ruderalis plants if anyone knows i would appreciated it . Also i know the inca is a cross between like green nature and something viking if ANYONE knows the exact cross of these Inca Spirit plants please let me know so i can look more into the crossed strain i had found a thread on the cross at one time but have never seen it again and would like to know . other then that how does the grow look .. we will be updating all the way through the grow with pics
