Rubber Beds grow

I was originally going to make the beds out of OSB board and 2x6 or 2x8 which I already purchased the wood.

My Grow spot is on the DL and no one knows what I have behind the closed doors. So I can not get anyone to help me build the box. I tried to do it by myself but I can not hold the wood and screw it....


I was going to do a bed 4x10 I have Rubbermaid containers that are 3ft 7inch by 1 ft 10 inches. I want to take 5 or take 6 of these Rubbermaid's put them up on milk crates and fill with the Sunshine. They will easy hold 6-7 inches of soil i think it should work no problem just want to check with you guys before I go through with this.

Please if you have any better IDEAS PLEASE SHARE:thumbsup:

You can always tack up bits of scrap wood to wedge your bed in place while you screw it together. Or use vehicle cargo tie-downs as band clamps. (This one time at band clamp... ) Do you have any woodworking tools, like c-clamps? It is flea market season around here anyway, and that is a CLASSIC flea market item- crappy made-in-China clamps and bungee cords.
Rubbermaid tubs will work too. Are you planning on putting in drain holes? You should lay down a thick tarp under the milk crates to protect the floor either way. Preferably with the edges wrapped around 2x4s so that it's like a catch basin.

Stink I'm shot I have all intensions of going into a box W/ a decent amount of clones which are set up. I spent the whole weekend party party party. After every party I worked cleaning up that DWC shit till 1-3 am. What a mess that 8 pack is terrible to clean up. I really want to go with the OSB I tried going around the bed with 2x4 and then screwing 2x6 in the side. No good a lot of wasted time and money. So I measured the long Rubbermaid's that go under the bed for storage they ar deep enough. I only want to veg for 10 days tops they are 7" deep and 3 1/2 feet.

I had no intentions of drilling. I want to try to follow Tranobles thread and just water enough for day to day. I took the clones out of the EZ and put them in the Coco 3" pots before they go into the Sunshine #1 which is the same @ 4 just 4 has 5% more perlite.

Right now money is not an option I just want to get this bed operational. I appreciate any of your input. Do you feel that drilling holes is the way to go from the start? I figure I could always add them later....

I've got no advice on non-draining beds. But Tranoble was getting great results and if you have a good grasp on that concept, go for it.

If you use OSB I'd line it in plastic just to keep the plants and the glue from coming in contact. Why? Just a hunch.

HAve you priced out actual plastic grow trays? By the time you're done with all the other building hassles, and buying materials, it might have been better just to buy a tray. Although you are urban, and rubbermaids are WAY more stealth to be carrying in and out of your apartment. Your call.

You can try some adhesive like liquid nails or PL200. If you can lay the sheet of OSB flat, glue 2x4 or 2x6 to the sheet, then you can come back the next day and screw it together.
I do not understand what the purpose of the bed is. Is it to keep dirt and water from getting on the floors or is there some other reason.
I would line it with plastic. OSB sucks up water like a sponge.

I was figuring 2 days food 1 day just H20 and alternate back and forth. I want to see how they take to the beds and the HPS before I hit them with any NUTES.

Hatch I would love to hear your friends feeding schedule and see how he is doing with the set up. I have the CO2 and will be turning it on in a day or so after I get the rest planted hopefully tonight. I have about 6 inches of soil in each which should be sufficient I hope to go to flower in the next 5-7 days...

I will post up some picks after I set up all the babies in the beds.. HATCH Aero is next I just jumped back in and tried the whole DWC and man was that a headache.

Yea I saw that in tranoble's thread, but as far as I could tell he was growing directly in the bed (not in a rubbermade in the bed). That is why I did not know the purpose of the bed, I must be missing something.

All 4 Rubbermaid's make the bed.. They are 6ft10 inches Long and 3 Ft 7 Inch wide.. It worked out to be a nice size bed and the Rubbermaid's are only 6 1/2 inches Deep I put them up on shipping cartons.

Here is a side shot they are up on shipping crates.They are all screwed to the crates with one screw and piece of duck tape covering the screws. "NO RUST" CO2 getting propane tank tomorrow for unit. Also putting in 35-50 more clones tomorrow. These rubber maids are better then I thought....

Back in the day I used to use 6ft round kiddie pools w/o drainage holes w/o any probs at all . Just gotta let em dry out good between waterings . I'll be watching bro. :thumbsup:

Nice one XC Stop back Ill post up some picks after I get the last 15 in tomorrow.

I've taken all the clones out of the EZ and I put them all into little 2" Coco's. Then I put them under a T5 for a day or two and everyday I just dip the whole Coco underwater submerging it. That was I can check to see if they are strong enough to go under the HPS. It has been working really good so far.. I really haven't been soaking the beds @ all I mix a 5 gallon of solution and that waters the babies I do each individually for now. With the 5 gallon mix I also water the big girls too..... I try to keep it dry with them staying happy. I don't want to get into over water over NUTES over anything.... I just want a nice grow I think these will work better then expected...

It's been a good start. Tomorrow I will start the CO2 burner up. I will pop up some more pics then. I have to get my TDS pen back I sent it in for water damage. I'm trying to go with Latewoods theory the 1-1-1 but not @ 8 I started with 3ML a gallon and I will see how they handle it.

If we could share that would be the greatest thing. To bad our federal laws are different then State Laws. I killed F#@ing Monsters because I had no more use for them. I could have donated 100's of cutting's too all my friends on the forum.. Yet we all know the rules so I killed them all other then the 200 I kept..

I have a great way to test out my clones I put them in 2" CoCo pots after they come out of the EZ Cloner. Then I completely submerge them each day and I leave them under a T5. If they are good they are ready for the HPS you can see the way they are standing if not I leave them there. I saved a lot of cuttings this way knowing they were strong enough to handle the HPS...

Clone the shit out of the CHURCH SnS.... That is some strain I can not wait to see the finish product. Swiss sativa, Skunk, Super Skunk, Northern Lights should be more of a Indica... 9 weeks or less and we shall know as long as there are no Bandits.... I did not want to install a alarm and not being there all the time can be an issue. GHSC Lab Reports Problems with Church Germination

Hi everyone,

We have had some complaints about our church seeds not germinating, as they should. We decided to re-test all batches of church that we have produced in the past couple of months, including the packets customers sent back to us. It was interesting to find that some seeds customers could not germinate, did germinate in our lab, but others did not, so we understand their frustrations.

The test results just came in and unfortunately from 3 very large batches of church there was 1 batch that had poor germination ratio of around 50% to 70% germination. This is unacceptable for us and for our customers, so we are taking immediate action.

This does not mean that the church seeds you bought will not germinate, but there is a chance (1/3) if you recently purchased your seeds, that they came from the batch we had problems with.

We do test all seed batches before we place them in packets and ship them out. However if we package 50,000 seeds, we cannot test them all, we test a percentage of the batch and at that time everything was ok.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and we encourage customers that have had problems with their church seeds to contact the vendor they bought them from to work out a replacement procedure. If you have a shop, please contact us to work something out.

If you want your church seeds replaced with another strain, this can be done directly, through the right channels, but if you wish to replace the church seeds with the same seeds, you will need to wait until we have completed all of our tests and the germination ratio is around 100% again.
We will keep everyone posted, including all of our official dealers.

It's by far the skunkiest stuff I've ever grown in my 20 yrs. of playin around . Mine ended up about 20% amber at 9.5 weeks bloom . Grown in Happy Frog and in 3 gal. pots . I wanna do my last 2 church seeds in my dwc / drip hybrib sys next and grow some monsters . Here's a pic. of my last church plant .

I am the luckiest guy I choosed Green House Train Wreck,Church, and Burmese Kush. I popped all 20 G.H.S and 10 TH Seed Co. The Church and TW all popped 20 of them lucky me.. Then only 3 TH Seeds popped they cost me the most $114.00. The next time I have to pick seeds I will get my Dog to pick them...:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yesterday I went to take care of the plants and split my head on the corner of a lamp. The blood was coming down my head like sweat. I get scared as hell I'm nervous working in this spot no HELP LOL second grow with out a partner. People encourage it but have really never done everything alone..... Well here are the last shots till we get the show started. I will take the next shots 10 days into flower which will start on Sunday or Monday. I put the last 5 clones in today I did not want to make this completely uncontrollable so I only have 63 Clones for the 63 days they have to flower.....:D


I really like these Rubbermaid's much better then expected. I have had wooden beds. I have one in my yard right now. IMO these are just as good same cost W/ hardily any labor to it... Since I stopped all the pumps and moved out the DWC my humidity dropped about 12% it is @ 52%. I just turned the CO2 burner on today. I would be going into flower today but the last 15-20 I put in yesterday and today I want to make sure they are in good shape. I hit them all with Growth Excel today it just arrived I could not find this SHIT anywhere. I think I found the last 3 Litters of it from some place up in Canada and it better be good.

I have a nice 12" Air Can in the room. It will be sealed and locked down this week. If the Fire Dept wants to do an inspection I will let them in to the main entrance and tell them the rooms are locked up with computers in there. The place has no ODOR except for Cedar Moth Balls which I smell like an old man from everyday from.. LOL:wtf:

That is why I built a sealed Room because I am in an industrial area and the Fire Dept likes to do building inspections. They can inspect the outside of a room but I don't have the keys to get in. Come back in a month after I trim up all my Weed:D..

NYC Firemen don't give a shit about anything. They are all cool guy's as long as the place is not burning. I have done this with them before but the first time I shit myself. Now it is just a normal routine. Ohh that door there is Disaster Recovery in there we store all major Co data on a non Internet Incripted Data Flux Capacitor Area. Sounds good to me + there not Tech Guys or Detectives..

I know how that is. I no longer have a car so i have to hoof it all over. I will often listen to my ipod, roll a blunt or joint, and then walk through the neighborhood before I walk to class. People do drive by and come out of their houses but no one is going to do anything because it just looks like i am smoking a cigarette. By the time that they would call the cops, I would be at class and the joint would be long gone. Update Is I have to wait till tomorrow to hit the SWITCH and that may be to soon for the last two beds so maybe even Saturday. Everything Is ready to go!!!! Just some more growht to the last ones that were put in. The biggest is 14" the smallest is 6" So I will go @ 10" on 90%.

I have a few old plants that I was going to flower a few weeks ago. I had them in flowering cycle and took them out (FUCKED EM UP).. I went to the Hydro store today and Picked up a deficiency additive from GRO TEK. I also put them all in 5 gallon containers. So know I'm in a limbo period which can not last 3 more day because off root development.

I started today with full nute mix 1200ppm Co2 @1200ppm also. I feel like we push and push to get the Xtra out of ourselves and our plants. We all do it and we all try to beat our last grow. I have so many different NUTES to many to list. I really am curious on these Miracle Grow,Growers. They seem less stressed I mean we push the plants so hard and then wonder why the leaves are curling..... LOL

This whole deficiency thing has me questioning the whole crazy Nute Package....

Well maybe after they go into flower I will cheer up. The ones in the beds look great Ill pop some shots when they get flipped...

I hit them with Reverse!!!! I don't know if I did it wright I mixed 1 TBS per 8 Oz..... That shitty ass penetrator is some BULLSHIT... (DISH SOAP YES IT HAS TO BE FUCKING BUBBLES EVERYWERE WTF)

I have a huge spread I hope the canopy evens out... The biggest is 14"+ and the majority are 10". I shut down the CO2 I will turn it on in 10 days when I clean the lower section of branches.. Ill cut off the lower 7-8 branches some of them looked like they were topped...... Crazy little 10" fuckers with 5-6 shoots.... Why can that not happen when you want it too?????

I put in some old monsters I had for about 6 months +. They are 10 plants in 5 gallon pots all different strains... I have them all under one 1000 in the back. Ill be bouncing them around the place..... The humidity will not be an issue w/ the CHURCH but the other strains may have issues.... I mean @ times it is 55% when I enter and with the door flapping it goes as high as 65% I think all should be good..... The room is sealed tight as hell the CO2 only comes on every 10 min for only 20 Sec.....

Ill be posting up some shots later on tonight!!!!

My temps are all w/ in range they say 85 light's on is optimal for CO2 but I don't exceed 82... I'm happy w/ the Temp there but my humidity is going to be an issue. NO BS when i say I built a sealed room. It does not get any better then this brother. 3/4 inch ply walls with the green board behind it. Tight as shit the CO2 comes on every 10-20 min and only for 20-30 sec tops.... I will have to get a dehumid my humidity is 55%+ but the church can handle that. the other ones in the bunch can not so a little bit more and just wait 60 more days tomorrow... LOL


They are huge very bushy the first two beds. Ill have to cut them back just a little more growth then expected. I have plants with 6 shoots and they are only 10 Inches everytime you want that it never seems to work out for YA. '

Witht the NUTES I've been playing during transition. I have been going back and fourth between a medium early flower and a medium late flower. Ill flush and do one more veg and bounce back but I have been also adding FISH MIX to the GH 3 part what a difference AMAZING!!!!(GOOD SHIT) Any one using it at all?

Well I did it 2nd day of flower and I was lucky enought to get a nute burn!!!

Lucky me I just said I was thinking of backing off on the nutes..

I just hit them with the same mix a week prior no issues.. With flushes in between same mix a week later bang a FUCKING BURN...

No I left them just as is no drainage. I water just enough that they need it everyday when lights come on... I received a nute burn looks to be clearing up though. I will drill the holes if necessary but I've followed Tranoble to a T except for building them I cheated and used a Rubbermaid....:D

If you built them how and if not were did you buy them? I can use my sockets and bulbs wright? I just have to get the tube? Do you need to run a intake into them If so I have a 10" can fan in the room just blowing away no ducts hooked to it. It is not a Vortex I know they are a bit stronger but I think the size of this bad boy could cool a few cool tubes... My room temp has been optimal Knock on Wood...

Hey HARO My man I did not answer one of your Questions. There are 15-18 plants per container.. I hacked off all the lower branches and they were quite large 14" + some only 6 days into flower so it looks like a dam thai sticks but they will double in size by harvest and it is much easier to access them for watering. They are 14" with only 4-5 sets of leaves if that.. By end they will be bushy I really have not cut out the grow because they are just straight shoots week 2 I will start to cut back and week 3 I will cut it out almost 75%...

Changed out tank on CO2 1st time this Grow... Any IDEAS on how long they last... I have it on 12/12 but it did not seem to go all that long.... When I purchased I thought it would be a fork lift tank but it is a BBQ tank.... I don't want to try any conversions with the machine because of fear....

The Humidity is finally under control Temps and conditions seem well!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Know Lets just hope it stays this way!!!

I hand water each plant every morning individually. I have to get a wand in their eventually. Any Ideas on a good watering system to get into hard to reach places other then just a hose?

When I think of a watering wand I think of one of those containers that you use for spraying weed killing shit (a new one that was never used).... the ones you fill up and then pump air into it, and the spray comes out of the end of the wand.. heheh... but not too much water comes out of the end unless ya took off the nozzle.... and its a bitch to pump that sucker by hand. Only good thing is that it's very portable.

Do you normally use the Reverse on plants you grow? For preventative reasons, or does that particular strain hermie easily?

Hey GD I have had the same IDEA come to mind. The only other that comes to mind is w/ a hose and a fish tank pump...

This time around is my first show to use the Reverse!!! I'm using it for both reasons for preventive and because with all Fem strains their is always the possibility of catching a HERM... I have heard nothing but good things about the product and it is just another good precaution...

Their she is:thumbsup:!!!! I missed chatting w/ you.. Hope all is well I have not been using reverse but I have been using the Dehumid Water... There is NO difference from that to our TAP.. The water is very very soft. I'm having a minor yellowing issue. I have not been going no were near full blast with the the Cal-Mag (Now I purchased the Cal-Mag+). I watered 2 beds this morning just to make sure it is not from over watering because there is no drainage in the beds. So tonight when I go to check if they are OK I will water the other 2 beds. If they are a bit more yellow I will not water the 2 I did in the AM for a day or so... Then I will wait for the other two for tomorrow. Hey things could be a lot worse... So I'm happy just taking my time and not overnuting N-E more... I would much rather the deficiency then any overwater issues... I have been giving each plant less then a 1/2 a pint because I was worried of over-watering... Just trying to play it :cool:... just trying to narrow down any issues!!!

I watered 2 out of the 4 beds and I do not think the yellowing is from over water... I think it is a Cal-Deficiency... Just going nice and easy the big Girls are doing great.... Their is already really nice development.... On one f the plants it was seeping out Resin Like black Tar Hash.... I pulled it off maybe a .3 of a gram but man did that shit stink.....

I have to get a better system for hanging the light's I will hit up the Depot tomorrow... All is well they are all standing tall..

I chopped the shit out of the bottoms only leaving the main shoot w/ maybe 2-3 side branches if that.... TRANOBLE I HOPE YOU ARE WRIGHT....

Purchased a 1/6 HP Pump for Watering....

Today the watering has changed all the plants are budding nicely ....:D:D

W/ the pump I will be able to wet the top of the beds more evenly. Then dumping the water into the beds and over filling just the Coco pots.. I think it was a good move I have been neglecting the Cleansing of the room..(Which will change MON) A one man band for this type of grow sucks A set of extra hands are always nice:thumbsup::thumbsup:... Everytime I have to adjust a lamp I feel like I'm going to break my neck..

Lets see I split my head open on a lamp so far. I fell on my ankle off a crate and thought I was going to hear a crack Sun of a bitch:wtf:... I fell off a ladder..

The work I do not mind but I really wish I had another set of hands... I think after this grow I will be taking a break again for a few months... LOL Nahhh it is in our blood once it begins it just gets crazier... I will just go much smaller "NOT"....:cool:

Hey WH I know your used to not shutting off the water. So you should know the answer if you experienced this... Our water is very very soft!!!! Have you ever had yellowing as such? If so what was the cause? I have a new watering system w/ a sump pump and shower nozzle instead of a dump into the CoCO that I buried them in... I don't think it is over water because 60 plants are only getting 2 1/2 gallons of water everyday..... W/ lot's of flushes because the yelllowing issues... I did have a minor Nute burn in the earlyer part of Flower!

Ze hoes is lookin mighty fine!! Tilt them mommas 45 degrees are even flat if you have to. That yellowing looks like a manganese or magesium defiency...(Something like that).. I experienced this when using dehumidier water..just a pointer. I know its a pain but I would switch over to reverse osmosis. (Pretty cheap at the salt water aquariuam shops)

You can lean those mommas vertical and roll em everyday..put a nice hole in the side of the pots to feed. Better to test and stress then to loose the best? I would...Anyway lookin nice..Best of growin..what you got now about 45-50 days?

I would love to just the space is an Issue.. I have a space maybe 6x8 6x7 but their is just a single 1000 on top and one right next to the front row another. I have a little walk way and a little space behind the bed but Ill have to change all fans...

I have some TW Mom's going now in Flower. When they develop some more Ill Send over some shots.... They seem to be moving along much better then the CHURCH but they all seem to be doing better then the CHURCH... LOL The TW and the Sensi Diesels have Great Amounts of Buds in early early Flower.... The CHURCH is a Slow Slow developer...

The one's that were IN the WF Pails I killed them all off.. Who would have thought plants could get to BIG:wtf:... So I had to Wack Them... Ill get you some shots of the TW soon.... The one's that I have took a good Beaten but they are still trucking along..:jointsmile::jointsmile::jointsmile:

The church in the beds some are developing well nicely flower wise and others in the beds are like the lights were just switched yesterday... :wtf: The canopy is finally starting to Even Out:thumbsup:80% A bit more and I will be good... If I can get the feeding to get better w/ the DAM CHURCH!!!! Then all will be perfect w/o any other issues but I don't think that will work for me.. I'm very Optimistic.:D:D:D

Troublesome Issues with the CHURCH!!!

OK I think I figured out the problem... My CO2 is in front of the the 2 beds with issues... Now the back beds are completely GREEN. Just the front two by the CO2 Burner are yellowing// The CO@ is hanging from the ceiling and is about 7-8 Ft Away... The Machine is spark ignition no glow plug or Pilot light... I have it only set to 1100 I will be bumping it up this week... STINK as far as the feeding I took some advice on the soil issue I added in a Tea.. Mothers Earth they seem much more happy have not yet reached over 1150 but tomorrow should be able to go to 1200 if all is well... The CHURCH is a late developer... The flowers were scarce and now they are blowing out like crazy.. I do not have air cooled lamps and had them pretty far off 22" from the canopy but I dropped them down to about 14" will see so far they like it... Think it is getting dialed in should be a smooooth landing FINGERS CROSSED

OK I went to check on the Girls... This is really troubling me I have 4 beds total 2 are fine 1 is So So and the other is interveinal chlorosis.. I have done nothing different between all the beds. The batches of water that they are getting are mixed from and watered from the same batch? No difference the only thing that is different is there are more in the beds that are doing well? The beds that are doing bad had an extra 4 days of veg? The only variable is they are closer to the CO2 the one's that are having issues? I added a new fan? (two times) FoilMicro Sprays to the bad beds? Their are no other variables then the distance from the A/C's to the bad beds and the closeness of the CO2 to the ones having issues...

You know certain problems can be right under your nose. I've found that a constantly blowing fan on my leaves will lead to a k def......and you can easily trace the pattern back to the fan.

As I said I'm having a plant right now as well that I've done every but jumping jacks over and it just keeps plugging along......and looking like shit. It's sister is gorgeous and 3 times her size.....WTF??? :mad:

I have been using the Isolating ones also. I just moved everything around a bit to make a change in the room... It was real fun moving a 12" Air Can all alone... It sucks but the DON'T TELL ANYONE RULE still applies!!!! I hope that in the next couple of days the change will be complete..

All variables have been gone over and are being addressed!!

I have GOOD NEWS for myself the front beds 1 made a 100% turn around and the other is still up in the AIR will see tomorrow... The beds are transparent which I think is no good so I Polyied out the sides of the two fronts (Troubled Beds) and all seems well.. This week they will all need to be staked Up good development of flower and Size.. Unfortunatly if this does not work the CO2 may have to be shut down (LAST RESORT) but will see

I found out that one of the Crosses I have a ton of seeds for is known as Southern Lights they want for 10 Seeds $112.00:wtf:... It is NYC Diesel x Sensi Star... I think that is PIC 1 PIC 2 Is one church that is doing great the eating has changed 100%. Thanks Stink they needed something to tune the soil... The tea really helped because i stuck w/ the GH 3 part... The 3rd PIC is the now only 1 slow developing bed of church (W/ interveinal chlorosis) Thanks Opie) the others are all good and they look 100% different great development...:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:...

Hey Hatch What's going on Brother? I think we are all having the same troubles. I wanted to be done flowering the beginning of July... The Dam DWC Attempt changed plans on that because I did not want to contend w/ the Aug Heat... Yet here we are in Aug w/ the issues... Dropped all the A/c's down to 76 to keep the room @ 85 it has to be over 160" outside the sealed room... I can not wait till Sept Oct but we are tru growers when we can blow out a nice garden in the HOT HOT summer... Most growers I know shut dwn shop for July and Aug... Hey try to get any type of substantial amounts of weight of good buds in late Sept Early Oct... it just is not around like it is durning the winter months... Then you see all that outdoor premi Shit that tastes like Pine Cones around here... We call it the Freezez I think it comes from VERMONT... Really wierd tasting bud but it is the best stuff most people can get their hands on in late Sept early Oct... Thank God the jars are always put away...HEHEHE

There is nothing wrong with 50% humidity in a grow. 60% is good, unless you're having rot issues or something. I like to put a humidifier and a dehumidifier in the same room and let them fight it out. Your plants are looking great. Nice little forest.

Try not to stress man, it's not worth it. I know how you feel. In time this too shall pass. It's summer and sunny, and we have food and drink, a roof over our head and a nice comfortable bed. If you can get your hands on a Norco or Vicidone, pop it.

I too would like to do a lil sumthin like tranobles sealed sog...

I too like you, grow in those underbed totes. but I'm using them w/ 3 in. net pots hanging in the lid in a ebb n flow type system... what I did to stop the light from getting thru the clear plastic was spray paint the outside of the tub and lid w/ black plastic paint then when completly covered I srpayed them w/ the white plastic paint to reflect the light on the outside but nice and dark on the inside for the roots... I might try panda film the next time, eaiser/cheaper
