Drug dealer caught on video brutally stabbing Sunday Mail investigator
THIS is the horrific moment when a Sunday Mail investigator is stabbed in the street by a drug dealer.
The scar-faced thug, wielding a deadly threeinch blade, lunges at our man in a savage street robbery.
The shocking images expose the brutal reality of the knife crime bringing bloody terror to Scotland's streets.
The attack, in broad daylight, came as our team investigated drug-dealing on a housing estate.
Our man - wearing a hidden camera - had left the home of Billy Thompson, 40, just seconds before.
Heroin dealer Thompson - the son of late 'Godfather' Arthur - is at the centre of a gang turf war in the neighbourhood his infamous dad once ruled with fear.
The stabbing was carried out by thugs targeting Thompson's addict customers in a bid to steal his business.
The knifeman led a gang of three who grappled with our man before stabbing him in the 3.10pm attack.
He needed stitches in the wound to his left arm.
Thompson, himself a heroin addict, had earlier told us: "I need to keep the door locked at all times."
And his girlfriend Denise, who had ushered us into their home to escape the gang outside, whined: "These guys are affecting our custom."
Shambling Thompson is the only surviving son of notorious Glasgow gangster Arthur .
He sells heroin from a house in the city's Provanmill district - just a few streets from the infamous Ponderosa, the row of customised council houses where he grew up.
But Thompson - who once hoped to take over the vast criminal empire his father built - is struggling to keep a grip of his evil business. Rival dealers in the area are determined to shut him down and take control of his illegal drug trade.
Our investigator visited Thompson's home posing as a customer just before 3pm on Wednesday.
Within seconds of approaching his front door, he was flanked by two men who tried to intimidate him into buying heroin from them instead.
A woman, who claimed to be Thompson's girlfriend and called herself Denise, took our man inside the house to escape the thugs.
She said: "They want to rip you off by selling you rubbish.
"We're waiting on ours arriving - he should've been here by now. He should've been here an hour ago."
At that moment Thompson appeared in the living room and asked what was going on.
Our man asked Thompson if he could buy two "tenner bags" of heroin.
Our investigator said: "I came to you because I heard your gear was dynamite."
Thompson replied: "Aye, it's really good."
The conversation then moved to the knife-wielding thugs who were circling Thompson's home like vultures.
Thompson moaned: "I need to keep the door locked at all times." His partner said: "They're the reason no one is coming to this door. They'll take the face right off you for 20 quid."
She added: "Something's got to be done about them because they're affecting our custom." Our man then left Thompson's home and was approached by a thug wearing a light coloured hooded jacket and a man in a blue cardigan and striped polo shirt who also had a scar on his right cheek.
The pair offered again to sell our man heroin. When our investigator turned them down the scar-faced thug - known as Robert - pulled out a knife.
He said: "Just give me everything you've got or I'll stab f*** out you."
When our investigator tried to pull away from the thug, he attempted to stab him three times. One of the lunges pierced the top half of his left arm.
The thug only stopped the frenzied attack when Sunday Mail staff went to his rescue. The horrific incident was captured by secret video equipment worn by our investigator.
One source said: "That sort of stuff is happening all the time.
"Junkies have been told not to go anywhere near Thompson's door. There must be about four or five drug dealers all living within a street of each other."
