check out this seedling. 24 days old @ picture. sprouted with mandala's rockwool technique. only thing i can think of is that its gotten really hot around here lately. looks like it self-topped. after seedling came up, went into dwc bubbler with 5.8ph plain RO. the RW was soaked in 5.5ph RO to stabilize. i'll keep her going for a while to see what happens. any thoughts?

If you use RO, you must also run calmag.
Also, don't forget to set the pH of the hydroton just like the rockwool!

i did not use cal mag initially, but did use it when put into the bubbler(4got to mention it,oops). hydroton was soaked in 5.5 solution also. only used hydroton to stabilize and cover RW when put into bubbler. i soaked hydroton for about 2 hrs. maybe wasn't long enuff? does this look like a ph prob? thanx for assisting, again:)

It looks like it HAD a bigger problem before than it does now. The new growth isn't bad; sometimes transplanting in hydro is a little tough to get right. I think the conditions now aren't causing problems, and a 2hr soak, especially new HT, is plenty for that small amount of medium.
You'll be ready to start feeding at a low level shortly. But definitely keep on top of the calmag.

once again Stinky, you rock, thanx! i use cal-mag always. just not in sprouting, should i use it when sprouting too? that's the last question on this, i promise.;)

i didnt use it on my seedlings the first time and they got fucked. they didnt self-top like yours but they looked like similar mutants. the lower leaves of yours looked exactly like mine. mine were fine for about 3 days w/o calmag and were stunted for a week until calmag was added

thanx for the info greenatik. by the way how did it turn out?

not bad they snapped right out of it once routinely on calmag. all remained quite bushy, even after putting them outdoors

check it out

notice that a pair of leaves starts to yellow

7 out of 10 stayed this small until calmag, never grew in a week 1/2

notice the leaves purpling/yellowing now

a week on calmag!

too bad, i lost about 1/3 of harvest to F@$&ING Catapillars!!! i guess this little calizahr was just doomed. all its probs were my fault though. i should have cal-mag'ed it, and should have caught the c'pillars earlier.:( BUT, what i did get is awesome!!! i've sampled a couple of rips 1 week into cure, and besides tasting a little 'green', the orange peel type flavor really comes thru! can't wait till its done curing. so far its very stoney, 2 roor rips and feeling heady and happy!!! should get more flavorful and deep stoney by end of cure. ( 3 more weeks). had a computer prob and lost harvest pics. these pics are of it curing and the last pics b4 harvest.:bonghit:
