As much as I'd like to see everyone have a nice Babel fish stuck in their ear, until then, the mod staff only speaks English as a primary language, and a couple of us have another language- but we can't moderate forums we can't understand, and my French at least is PAINFUL to read, lol, so the English only rule has got to stay.

I know, right?! Between the Brazilian population in the large cities, and the Portugese communities that have been around since the heyday of codfishing, there's certainly ample chance to practice. At the very least, I can go enjoy a big pot of seafood and a nice vinho verde at Tony and Penny's in Ludlow any time. That's actually where I went for dinner on Good Friday. It was PACKED, and the food was awesome. Yum yum!

Sardinhas assadas (roasted sardines) with a nice beer on a sunny day.... can't beat it... if they have it, in season, you should try the tomatada... it's this goo made mostly of tomatoes and butter and cheese (They've never heard of eating light those porks) you eat it with papo secos (portuguese buns) deadly!!!

I make ablondigas de baccalao (sorry can't spell for shit) pretty often out of dried salt cod, potatoes, saffron, and onions, deep fried of course, and a dip made of yoghurt, garlic, lemon juice, and roasted red peppers, all tossed in the blender. I don't know if the dip is authentic or if it's more north African with the yoghurt, but it goes together really well. That tomato goo sounds really good; I mean, 3 things that are delicious, how can you go wrong?!

I think you meant almondegas de bacalhau :D.bolinhos de bacalhau - Google Image Search (http://images.google.com/images?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=bolinhos%20de%20bacalhau&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi) but we call them bolinho de bacalhau... otherwise I have no idea what you mean... and you know those portuguese... they were trading with everybody, picking up spiced and recipes along the way...
