I've grown and budded plants outdoors before and I've got some in the process as of now. I'm interested in setting up a system indoors that'll be relatively cheap cost and something moderately easy to craft. Now I'm new to this and open to ALL days. Any tips\tricks you may have to optimize the bud, please send it my way! Much thanks appreciated!
I'll upload some pics of my current outdoor grows as well to share!

Depends on how cheap, and how big your indoor grow is. My veg area is about 4 FT in length x 5 FT high x 3 FT wide, I use CFL's - 7 27W 6700K (Daylight) and 6 27W 3700K (Cool White) bulbs (around 3$ per bulb) and I pull around an oz off each plant that are about a foot tall when they go into flower.. walls are painted flat white, its in a closet so there is tons of headroom but i rigged up a cardboard reflector thats covered with an emergency blanket.. after this crop ill be switching to a perpetual harvest because i made a clone/veg box out of a uhaul cardboard box, my whole setup cost maybe 150$ if you factor in the soil and nutes (foxfarm), lights, thermometers, fans, and timers. I wish I had a camera but my friend decided to fall in the water in the Keys with my backpack on not too long ago.
Nice outdoor grow btw!

Well I've got some space to work with, I'd say a 10x10 area. I'm trying to get it as cheap as I can to make it work to be a pleaser. Thanks for the info!
10x10 eh? That is quite a large grow area haha.. with CFL's the main problem is lumens disipate very quickly so they would need to be about 2 to 3 inches away from the plants at all times to get any decent yield. if you could build a 4x4x4 cube (wood, cardboard, etc.) and paint it flat white or cover it in emergency blanket you would concentrate the lights greatly and get a better yield opposed to just popping them in a 10x10 room...
4x4x4 would leave you about a foot headroom for the lights, 3 vertical feet should be enough to flower 4 nice plants IF you threw them in at about a foot tall, if headroom becomes a problem you could LST them.
check this out, it may give you some ideas

Gotta keep in mind the height of the pot, the 'buffer' space between light and plants, height of light fixture and mounting hardware...No problem with this size growspace for CFL's, but using a 400w HID, a 4 foot tall growspace will let you grow plants approx. 18"-24" tall, so LST may be the only option, unless you build taller.

10X10 first off you have to decide if you are going to split this area for clone/veg and for flower. I would make a chamber big enough to harbor 2-3 moms and at least 20-25 clones. So maybe a quarter to half of the 10X10.
Actually which style do you want to grow soil sea of green, hydro sea of green, scrog, so many choices?:stoned:
Cheapest way is hydro although I prefer soil. Hydro also tends to be less work as for as upkeep once started. I think sea of green with a 5X5 area under a 1000 watt puts out like 1 1/2- 2 pds (if running hydro possibly more) every 8 weeks. Then use the other half for your moms and clones.
Depends on your laws though as to how many you want to do. And which way you want to go.
Price wise, could cost you from 1000$ for a CHEAP start or go head and drop 2000-2500 and be pulling 3 pds at a time. All up to you. Hope my rambling helps a little bit.

That doesn't sound too "relatively cheap" or "moderately easy" to construct, let alone maintain.

Guess it kinda just depends on your view of cheap?

Why don't you ask him?
He can build a 4x4x4 box, throw a HID light in it, vent that bitch for prob under $400. CFL would save probably over $200.
3lbs every 8 weeks would be nice....if you dealt it, which i don't believe is the case here.

I'm looking to pay minimum cost. I like the ideas keep them coming. I want to try not to use my entire area of space either. I'd like to grow about 6 plants.

There's a shopping list in the link in my siggy that might be helpful, and many of the grow logs here give deatiled parts and equipment lists.
