Co2 Furnace question

Ok I have done hours of research on several sights trying to find out about using a furnace to produce co2 getting no clear answers. My question is simple, does your furnace running blowing hot hair into the grow room produce co2 on its own? Does anyone here do this? For me it would be alot easier to buy a programable thermastat and set up a co2 program than to buy bottled co2 but the guy at the hydro store said furnaces may be designed to remove the co2 they produce.

Yer furnace produces CO2 as a combustion byproduct, but it also produces CO ( carbon monoxide), which will kill ya pretty damn quick.

By the time that you'd modified yer furnace exhaust and combustion chamber to SAFELY utilize the waste CO2 without the risk of killing yourself, family, pets, etc- you'd be able to buy tank gas for years.

Please don't try this- I came really close to killing somebody once when a burner malfunctioned and blew a bunch of CO into a space. Still wake up with panic attacks.

Seriously- this can't be done safely without a qualified gasfitter and several thousand dollars in mods to your heating system. Even then, any partial combustion- contaminated gas, corrosion on the burner tip, low combustion 02 ratio- will cause the rig to pump CO, which will kill you.

I bought a CO2 tank yesterday. They didn't ask any questions, or ask to see an ID. The tank was $175, filled (~2 months' worth of juice), the delivery system was $150 including the timer, and refills are like 20 bucks. Do yourself and your household a favor!

On a side note:

I use a propane log fireplace...as my primary source of heat during the winter.

I let the recirculating fan of the HVAC system run all the time. I assume...my grow room in the rear of the house received some CO2?...I hope so...that shit [propane] cost $600 last winter; while my plants were growing...:thumbsup:

That's as close to a CO2 tank...as they'll ever get...:)
