I have faith that the Red Sox can do it again!
I also have faith in the Bruins, been a fan since I was a baby... I'm hoping that faith when there's no hope will help? haha.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm the hanger!
Stinky, we should go to a hockey game this year and get wings and beer afterwards.

I know, right? The kids are all gone for the year though :( no hockey until the trust-fund freshman flock back. You can tell by the overconcentration of Jersey plates at Puffton that it is huntin' season lol.
However, I was at Hangar yesterday after work drooling over Stoney... or was it the pile of wings the guy next to me had? Doesn't much matter anyway. They're both hot.
Hell, I was at Casa de Nana a couple weeks ago and had to leave because I almost decked the guy next to me who was being a real-life troll. My BF is (thank God) a little slow on the uptake and didn't notice the string of cleverly-worded insults coming from a couple seats down. They weren't lost on the Troll Hunter though. I had to leave or I was going to hit him. Hard. Bummer, because I was REALLY enjoying my enchiladas.

Thats why I always get takeout in this city, people have no problem being assholes. I've gotten so many sly remarks about my tattoos/weight/hair colors, lol, thats it's just not worth it anymore.
springfield is a fucking shithole, and I'm not gonna deny that one bit. I'd like to move as soon as possible but with the housing crisis, my partner and i's house is worth less now than when we bought it, so we'd be selling it at a loss.
I'm gonna stop right here thought because I'm about to go off on a long, angry, tangent.

That's actually what it was- a comment on my weight, which I thought was really fucking out of line to begin with, and on top of that, didn't make a ton of sense considering I'm of fairly average build, maybe a bit on the peasant side, lol... I mean hell, I'm a fucking size 12. I shop in the juniors section. It doesn't make sense! And this douchebag next to me was like, "Hey last time I saw moves like that was on Chris Farley"! The whaaaaa? Come on! Not only was it totally weird, but it wasn't even a good insult! Springfield IS a shithole. Their school system is a disaster (as evidenced by Mister Insult Comic there); the teachers who are toughing it out and trying to make it work are fucking SAINTS in my eyes. Everyone I know who lives in the metro area (Agawam, SoHadley, Holyoke, Chicopee, etc) comes up to Hamp for fun. I'd love to buy a big old Victorian down that way but in Holyoke, where at least there's the semblance of culture. Ugh, don't get me started either. haha
You ever make it up further north, where the trees are?

I'd love to say I do, but to be honest? The last time time I went up there was in 2007. My bf works nights and I work days so our schedules get really screwed up, and we don't often get to have fun little trips.
In the next couple weeks I know i'll be going dancing at Divas though, with a gay friend of mine. He's been begging me to come with him, and hell, why not if it gets me out of the house? I made a promise to myself awhile ago to go out more often, but it's hard because in my time I've been in the area, I've only made friends with co-workers, none of which are over 21, and going to a bar alone isn't my idea of a good time.
Blah I'm complaining too much, I have a nice house, a nice car, a decent job, and relatively good health. In the grand scheme of things, my life is pretty great.
ps- anyone who calls you fat is a moron, and you can quote me on that

Let me know. I haven't been there since it was the Grotto. And I'm curious (no pun intended)...
Edit: Sez Katy:"ps- anyone who calls you fat is a moron, and you can quote me on that"
Sometimes I'm tempted to let my pimp hand do the talkin'. :pimp:

you should next time! ha.
the only way people are going to realize that size related comments and hate of larger people is WRONG is if people start speaking up and doing something about it. I try to make an effort to educate people when they make comments, but it doesn't always work, unfortunately.
also, do you notice that the majority of the time, the guys making the fat comments aren't exactly brad pitt themselves? maybe they should work on that beer gut before judging others.

Oh man, this guy was one homely ass mofo who was sitting there talking down to his lil' woman too, and when I walked out, the only other car in the parking lot was befitting someone suffering a Napoleonic complex... rather large, and rather gaudy. Shit, son, my pimp hand was itching. Coulda left him a message... but I figured he was too dumb to read it. Specifically, see a couple dents (car? forehead? undecided...) in the shape of my pimp bling, and read 'you don't fuck with The Stink'. Eh, not even worth it. I bet he suffers enough with his own demons.

Apparently you can buy a championship...
Good for them, but I still can't sit right with the fact that they had to amass an all-star team, which by the way the trades seemed shady, to win the title.
Hats off to my Lakers though. Sure as hell didn't see them getting to the finals. If only Bynum wasn't hurt...

Apparently you can buy a championship...That's pro sports for ya, and why I prefer the college sort, where at least it's scrutinized harder and on the surface you at least aren't ALLOWED to throw money around. I have such a tough time getting super excited over games played by professional athletes. I'd rather stop at the town field on the way home and watch all the grad students from former British colony nations play cricket! Now THAT'S a real game!!!:D
It doesn't diminish the amazing skills of the players one bit in my eyes though.

:S2: Too true..
I'll definitely agree that in general college sports (specifically basketball for me) are more exciting to watch, but like you mentioned, the skills obviously are far superior, and that apparently draws me in. I guess I follow the NBA because I grew up loving the players and just can't ditch my team, so it's good to know that their games are at least still exciting for me.

The most dominating force of the finals, Paul Pierce, has been a celtic for a long time. Also, KG deserves a fucking championship. They didn't buy a championship, they made smart trades and found a combination of players that can work together in a way you only see on the back home basketball courts. THEY SHUT DOWN KOBE. The best player in the league, and they shut him down.
There's always going to be haters spouting negativity and bs, but this team earned their championship.

Sure KG deserved a championship, I just find it amusing and also somewhat shady that both he and Ray Ray went to Boston and bam they win a title almost like it was fixed...let's not forget that there's a bunch of news about past fixed games in the headlines, so hey, I'm certainly not ruling that out.
I mean the only thing that I really hate about them winning is the fact that they were chose to win it in the preseason. Same with the Spurs the past couple years. There's just not much up in the air anymore with the NBA and it makes it dull to watch if you already know what's going to happen.
That said, screw the Celtics. Funny how all these "devoted beantown fans" were nowhere to be seen last year when they had a terrible team, yet this year finals time the bandwagons were running 24/7. :S2:
Oh well...good luck keeping the big 3 and still being able to afford anyone else in the next 5 years. Hate Hate Hate!

I didn't want Boston to win, but it isn't just KG, Ray and Paul. Rajon Rondo is a damn good point guard, and he's only 22. Kendrick Perkins is in the upper echelon of post play and defense and he's only 22. Leon Powe, with little contributions he made off the bench proves he's a beast. He went what, 20+ off the bench in one game in the finals? And he's what, 20?
That's just the young guys, not to mention Posey. Eddie house is dependable, PJ & Cassell got that experience that put them over the hump.
Without these guys, they wouldn't have made it to the finals. Remember Atlanta and Cleveland almost beat them.
I thought the Lakers were gonna take it, but Boston rolled over them. Shows how weak Gasol is in the middle.
Not to mention Glen Davis. Bostons got a solid core once either Allen or Garnett depart.
