I'm using hydroton on an ebb and flow tray. The plants are in net baskets and are sitting in a tray maybe a foot apart, and I have maybe 3 inches of hydroton filling the tray after setting the plants in place. These plants are going into flowering and are 10 to 12 inches tall.

What works best for watering this? I have them at every 4hrs for 15 minutes right now...

Anyone using hydroton on an ebb and flow table?

Yeah, i use hydroton in an ebb and flow. I don't really like it, i am soon switching to DWC (with the hydroton).

I've been watering 4 times a day, half hour at a time. i've suffered a lot of root rot or dried, dying roots, but perhaps i didn't water them enough. either way i am getting way better results with DWC and it's way easier than ebb and flow...so i'm not gonna try and fix it...i'm just giving up on ebb and flow...what a coward eh? haha.

good luck.

I have used the same method and timing during veg for the past 4 grows and have had nothing but success. My roots get too big to flower in my E&F tray though so I had to switch to DWC.

Well, I just loaded my stuff on the tray, and I switched from DWC, the buckets.... mainly because there are just too many connections, and I'm a bit tired of leaks and the floor getting soaked!

Thanks for your input, I would assume root rot is due to too much watering, and dry roots are not enough watering.
