Most of the information ive found around this site and the google talk about methodology pertaining to multiple plants. I was hoping to grow just one for, well i guess for the hell of it mostly. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on this. I intend to start at least five and keep the healthiest looking gurly. Any tips, any advice after that. I can say it definitely wont be hydroponic. I have a 3X3 space in my closet. And....go!

Any advise would be purely hypothetical, as nobody knows what kind of lights you have, what nutes you're intending on using...and on and on...
Figure out what your intentions are and do some general research, like in the grow logs. These usually show from start to finish what the grower is using, how they are using it, and what the results are.
Once you have a plan, run it by us if you'd like, and then the advise you get won't be confusing and useless.

For info provided (1 plant, 3x3 area) try a SCROG.

You're going to have to grow ALL of them at least to sexual maturity to keep the healthiest female. You don't even know which is the gurly until then. Read the link in my siggy, and the 'continuous canopy' sticky in basic that explains about plant spacing at different ages. FINISHING 1-3 plants in that space is correct, but you know that you have to start at least 4 to give the best chances of a healthy female, and even then, it is not 100% guaranteed.
Can I at least slap 'ya around a little? :D
