I'm a newbie and have 11 females 18 days in the flowering stage. 7 days ago, I replanted to bigger 8inch pots using peet based soil with time released nutes built in. My more experienced bro put some nutes after the repot (thrive alive B1, More Bloom, Earth Juice Bloom and Alaska Bloom) not sure of the amount given. A day after repot the leaves started to yellow on mid section and lower section. A few plants started to have black spots and appears to be drying. I was using 400hps with a stationary fan inside a close (no temp guage and no ph tester yet).

Should I replant using a better soil or could I be overheating?

Any help to save my girls would be appreciated.

Thanks.

To much fertalizer would be my guess. If you have time released IN the soil , plus your feeding them . As well, you are using peat based soil ? Is it buffered for proper soil pH , as peat is generaly very low ph.

Hey jessejames, thanks for your reply.

Honestly, I don't know what kind of soil was used. My bro was the one who bought and replanted while I was out of town. He mentioned the store didnt have the soil he was looking for and had to settle for this one with peat. He is away so I cant ask him now. But I see small clear balls on the soil which tells me it contains time released nutes.

What would be the best way to go about this? The yellowing leaves are wilting quickly and about to fall off. Would it help if I just replant using new good soil or would flushing with tap water be enough?

Thanks again.

I decided to flush the pots tonight and noticed that the drains on the pots are not sufficient. I left it draining for a while until there was no more water dripping and when I picked it up, I noticed water gushed out when tilting the pot on an angle.

Could this be the problem why the leaves turned yellow. I held off putting some nutrients for now. Will see what happens.

sounds like you need to flush but i guess you did..rule of a green thumb!!at least in my expireanc is once you repot you dont feed for a few day's the roots need time to stretch to the new soil...how experienced is your bro by chance??

My bro used to grow himself I would say 5 years back and gave me all the nutes and light fixtures (175W MH and 400 HPS). I guess he became a little bit rusty about growing due to the long break.

So when do I feed next?

Thanks for your most needed advice. I will see what happens.
