i was wondering if you use Bacardi 151 and start with 2oz of alcohol and 3.5 grams of dank bud, then evaporate it down to 1oz and you are not satisfied with the results could you leave it open on the counter for a few weeks? in other words, what is stopping the rest of the alcohol from evaporating? the way i see it, if 1oz has about 30 doses and you evaporate only alcohol leaving .5oz of green dragon wouldn't this increase the potency or at least increase the THC : liquid ratio? and if you plan to do this with sunleaves and stems could you start with maybe 1/2 oz of dry leaf and (x) amount of high proof liquor and boil it down to the the equivilant THC% portion would you get acceptable results?

from what i have read marijuana's sunleaves have on average 3% THC (is this right?) and the buds have from 7.5% up to 24% so lets assume high quality cannabis has 18% THC or 6 times that of sun leaves.

say you start with 6/8 oz or 21 grams of sunleaves, schwag, low grade mids, ect. (because it has 1/6th the THC you need 6 times the amount of weed), then add 12 oz or bacardi 151 (6 times more alcohol) and boil it down to 1oz wouldn't you expect the same results (help me with the math)

in other words... 5/8oz is 6 times more than the recomended 1/8oz so use use 6 times the amount of liquor (the suggested amount is 2oz so use 12oz) and boil it down to half or 6 oz (the original recipe goes from 2oz to 1oz or a 1:2 ratio) at this point you your green dragon would have 1/6th the THC : Liquor ratio of standard green dragon. therefor it would only be 1/6th as powerful ???RIGHT??? so to get it to be equaly as powerful you would need to boil it down to be 1oz (from 6oz)

theoreticaly would this work im still slightly high and extreamly rambling! help my math and potency data. just dont not ever correct my grammer, not?!

I didn't go over it with a fine-tooth comb, but if your assumptions about potency are accurate, the rest of your reasoning looks sound.

Keep in mind that if you're going to use a large quantity low-potency material & then reducing it, you're going to be pulling a lot of unwanted stuff into the tincture & then concentrating it - it's probably really going to taste like hell.

I'm going to harvest a plant soon, & I plan to extract the fan leaves etc into butter or coconut oil, & then "wash" it several times - to deal with just that problem.

I dont think the %THC content is directly proportional to amount, when it is translated to potency of the drink. Example: 2.5 grams of high quality grade with say x% THC (dont know the exact range) is better than 5 grams of schwag with (x/2)% THC. Even tho on paper the amount of THC is the same. Thats why Master Wu recommends dank.
