Hey guys. Im in the process of hanging my hood and having some problems. Made a hole in the ceiling (cement) with a 6 1/4 drill bit. I used a metal insertion so I can screw the hook. The problem is that the hook fell down with all the metal screw and eveything. What better thing can I use for that hole in the ceiling so that the hook fits very strong, preventing the hood to fell down?

Hopefully that cement is strong enough and not crumbly so you can actually set an anchor in it, but it might not be. Try a plastic anchor, and test the strength before hanging a light.

Your better option might be to build a light hanger out of PVC pipe or 2x4s, or get a 'portable clothes rack' from a department store. Those make acceptable light hangers if you make sure they are assembled securely.

Or maybe someone with masonry experience (bricked weed doesn't count hahaha) will chime in?

If it is to be done right, should use the right stuff. Can google: Red Head A7-10 Acrylic Anchor Adhesive, Red Head NEWG5-22 Epoxy. There's others, but it's a start.
