Well Its been a while since I have had the time to take some pics and then actually sit down and make a thread. On my last grow I flowered in 5 gal buckets and then just drilled holes in the bucket and tied down all the branches. It worked okay but wasn't fully utilizing all the light/space. I had really liked what two people did on his site, Tranoble with his flower beds and justaseed with his awesome scrog work. I thought what if you combined the two? I have a medical grow and my plant count is limited so I can't do a SOG with a lot of small plants. So I'm still using a bed just with fewer but larger plants, then using the screen to utilize all the light and space. I had a friend growing in raised beds and having great results so I got a few pointers from him and I was off to home depot. I built the bed out of 2x12's for the sides and then 3/4" plywood for the bottom reinforced with a few 2x4's. It came out to be 3 1/2 feet wide by 7 feet long. I used a 4" shower drain in the dead center and routed it so it was flush with the plywood. Then I lay'd down some poly, put sand on top of that and sloped it so the water/nutrients would drain towards the middle. Then I used a 20 mill pond liner on top of that and filled it up with Sunshine mix #4 with some chunky perlite added in. Then I spaced out 14 plants that had been topped once and vegged for about 2 months under a 4ft T5. I tried putting in a drip system but have yet to get it working to my satisfaction, so lately I just use a 15 gal res with a 500gph pump hooked up to a 1/2" line using it like a garden hose. I let the plants grow on their own for the first 2 weeks of flower then put the screen on. And here's the pics!

and here they are fully scrogged :rastasmoke: I also added a pic of the drip system.
I'm still using 1 1000 watt hps and 1 600 watt hps both sealed and air cooled. I have one 12" oscillating fan and one Honeywell blowing underneath the screen. Then I have a 6" can fan for my exhaust hooked up to a temp/humidistat. So far temps stay around 70-75f and the humidity has been around 60%.

looks excellent! I was toying with the idea of making a bed the exact size of the inside of my cab, which is small but I believe would better utilize the space that I do have.
Do you think it would work with 2'W x 1'D? Maybe 3 plants spaced out ?

Yeah that should be okay, just make sure you add in some kind of drainage system to avoid salt build up or ph issues.

what is the total height from floor to top of your light? I like the idea and want to see if I can fit it in a spot I have in my garage.

from the floor to the top of the 1000 watt is probably 6 1/2ft and for the 600 watt is about 6 ft. from floor to top of hood. I can take exact measurements later when the lights come back on. Keep the questions/comments coming. I'll be going camping for the next 2 days so if I don't answer right away that's why...
Happy growing

No, the Strain is a cross of Sage and Sour Diesel. But I have that book with that picture and the Sage does look incredible.

Some of the lighting and other equipment belongs to a friend of mine who's been helping me with my grow. And the rest of the stuff I bought mostly off of craigslist. If you live in an area where a lot of people grow you can find some pretty sweet deals. I got a 1000 watt switchable ballast, 1 hood, 1 600 watt hps ballast, 1 600 watt bulb and 1 used 1000 watt mh bulb all for $300. If you don't see anything on craigslist local then I would try ebay...
Good luck!!!

Buds are starting to swell up fast. I have 1 strain in the bed I got from a friend that he calls samurai kush that's also a 9 week flower thats really starting to smell great. Even though they are both 9 week strains the Sami is a little behind in size than the SnS but I was told that she puts on a lot of wieght in the last 2 weeks. Supposedly she is a Garlic crossed with Kush. I have been getting it from my friend for the last year or so but this will be my first time growing her myself. I'm using the same technique, soil, and nutes, Advanced Sensi Bloom A/B with most of the other advanced line. So it will be cool to compare it with his and see the difference/similarities. One difference is I run Co2. I wasn't planning on using it this run but it has been so hot lately here in socal that I would rather pay the $20 per week for Co2 than use an A/C. I also have some Samurai cuttings that have all rooted and were just moved under a T5 to veg for a few weeks then I'll either find a nice spot for them outside or bite the bullet an run the A/C for 2 months. Only problem is I'm going to Burning Man and I'll need a plant sitter for 2 weeks while I'm gone...But that's not for 2 months so I have some time.
On a side note I had a friend take all my trim from y last Bubba kush Grow and the one Sage n Sour and make some awesome full melt bubble hash. He actually has the "little washing machine" that you put the trim in a bag fill with water, ice let get cold then you turn it on and it knocks off all the trichomes and then you drain out the water through the bubble bags. Hes got the Bubble Man bags, at least 8 bags. He would do a least 3 runs per batch of trim. So I got 1 full melt grade, 1 melt grade, 1 food grade. What was funny was that 80% of the trim was Bubba Kush and 20% was the Sage n Sour. The hash smells just like the SnS nugs. Anyways I had about a pound of trim and probably only got 5-10 grams. Its still drying so we shall see.

Well week 6 is coming to an end and the screen is really starting to fill in with buds EVERYWHERE. Other than tucking back the fan leaves all I have been doing is watering them every other day and they seem to be loving it. I did have to put my Dehumidifier in though. My exhaust fan was having to run constantly and not allowing the co2 to be turned on and utilized. No big deal...I really like the scrog method now, you definitely use every bit of light that your paying for. Anyways here's some pics

Thanks for all the compliments!! Luckily the guy who's helping me with my grow has done a few scrogs so he helped out a bit. At first when we put the screen on and started to weave everything threw it look like a tangled mess. But give it a week and all the flower sites will start bending towards the light. Anyways I couldn't have done it without all the knowledge from people here at Cannabis.com !!! Stay Irie

Hey really nice Grow you have their.... I like Tranobles grow also. I copied it as well but I went crazy with the SOG.... Shitting my pants:D we don't have Med Cards were I live:D.. Hey 2 grows and take a break for a Yr... LOL
Can you please tell me more about your drip system I seen the pics and it appears to be opperational. That only come on once every two days? Or am I missing something? Can you please explaint the set up the less time I have to spend in my room the better off I am..... I really would love to get a drip system on a timer and just go in 3-4 times a week to top Rezes and clean up the little shit around the rooms...
Really nice job I have to get a Dehumidifier myself the humidity is a 55-60%... How much did you pay for yours and were did you pick it up?
Thanks for taking the time to read up on my post
Good Luck Beautiful Grow GL

The drip system does work but not to my satisfaction. I have a 500gph pump hooked up to some 1/2" line. Then you take this little hole punch tool and make a hole in the 1/2" line insert a 1/4" barb and then hook up 1/4" tubing. I put 2 1/4" lines per plant. The problem is that the begging of the line has good pressure but the end of the line the water barley drips out. I could put some little spray heads on the end of the all the 1/4" line and that would even out the pressure...i think. Even if I had even pressure throughout the line the water just drips out and doesn't give you even coverage over the bed. So you would end up with a bunch of wet spots surrounded by a dry bed...So basically I just fill up the reservoir and drop in the pump and use it like a garden hose to water the entire bed. Maybe next grow I'll get all the bugs worked out of the drip system...I really need a miniature sprinkler system, not a drip system. I guess if they were in buckets a drip system might work but for a flower bed it doesn't seem to work.
The dehumidifier actually belongs to a friend, like a lot of my equipment. I think you can pick up a new one for around $100-$150 depending on the size...

end of week 7. Flowers are really starting to get noticeably bigger everyday. 2 more weeks for the Sage n Sour but the Samurai looks like it needs another 3 weeks.
