hi all, my plant is a double dutch strain and is nearing the end of vegetative growth but i have now noticed that many of the leaves are curling and/or drooping. i have included pictures.
i don't know if this is a fairly minor problem or not.
i have had it on a 18 hours on 6 hours off cycle under one 240 watt HID lamp and have been using 15ml of plant grow mixed with every 10 litres of water. i have watered it once a day and allowed it to drain through. the temperature day has been around 23-28 degrees celsius and at night around 17-20. humidity has been around 50-60% for the majority of the time. i have also used occasionally 1.5ml PH down phosphoric acid with every 10 litres of water which may be causing problems im not sure. With the yellow spots on some leaves i have a feeling that spider mites are a possiblity. any help is appreciated

I think you may have several problems going on.....the curling leaves and edges could be due to overnute/overwater/ph issues. You'll either have to correct all three or correct them one by one and see what straightens out and what doesnt.
Really NOT a very good idea just to add a ph adjustster indiscriminately (sp?) unless you ARE checking your ph and making sure you are adjusting it to the correct level....between 6.2-6.8 for both your soil and your water. Id slow your nutes WAY down and not water unless the plant soil appears dry.

Pic 1 = heat stress.
Did you already have a high pH problem that you are trying to treat? You MUST check your runoff to determine what pH to feed at.

ok thanks guys. for heat stress should you just lower the plant so it's further away from the light? ok i'll stop with the nutes incase thats the problem. but how can you tell how often watering is needed when you aren't using soil or peat?

Phosphoric acid is not a nute.
If your cabinet is too hot overall, moving plants within it won't help. You need ventilation- how are you providing that?
Read the link in my siggy. Also read the troubleshooting form in the problems section.

ok well i've got a fairly strong fan in the room or should i say shed with the door open occasionally which i thought was enough but i'm probably wrong.

Moving hot air around does not make it cooler; it simply helps strip the plants of moisture faster. The fan itself has a motor in it that creates heat. You need EXHAUST.

Hi All!!!
Everyone has their ideas of how to grow.
When you ask for help here, you will get different opinions on the problem.
I have found that keeping my PH at around 6.5.
Using a quality soil, "Fox Farm Ocean Forest"
with a complete fertiliser, on the correct schedule for the age of the plant.
Lots of fresh air "Not recycled or blown around stagnant air"
will help you have a healthy plant.
I also supplement some Cal-Mag.
I also keep the temp at a max of 80f.
Good air circulation helps but as Stinky said, just blowing around hot air will just dry out your plants.
I listen to Stinkyattic and it has helped me, I still got problems but I know where the help is.
I still have discolored leaves and this sticky stuff all over my plants.
GO FIGURE.
PS, Thanks Stinky

that would make you a failure. that would mean that all the time and sweat and love you have invested so far (not to mention any money you've invested) was wasted.
don't stop, don't give up, if you keep trying, each failure becomes a learning experience that you grow from, you become larger than you were by learning that you can do it, you can learn if you want to. if you quit, you just prove to yourself that, when the going gets tough, you give up, don't let that be true!
lol, sorry for the lecture man, lol, i have teenagers
anyway, you already have Stinky's attention (not always easy to get) so all you have to do is follow her advice and she will walk you through it. i would suggest some pics of your set-up, including the base of the plants, the more info you can provide, the better, if you want help.
(btw, weedhound knows her shit too so don't disregard her advice either)

yea i know you are right i'm just pretty pessimisstic sometimes. not a good personality trait for a grower lol. anyway i have sorted out my PH and the plant is looking much better since i have left it outside for most of the daytime seeing as we have had really good weather here recnetly. plus the heat stress signs have slowed since i lowered the temp a bit. some of the leaves are still droopy but the majority is looking okay. i have just induced flowering a few days ago so hopefully all will go ok

Awesome! Once you take down your first harvest, you will feel a lot better that you can bring back a sick plant and make it perform like you wanted!

yeah hopefully. one other minor thing. i've included a pic but on one leaf it looks like what i can only describe as a brown blotch on the topmost flower. don't know if anyone could diagnose that. it might be a little hard to tell from the picture
