Just watched this show on the BBC iplayer (UK only I think). The Biotech Revolution (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b0088yjf.shtml?q=visions+future&start=1&scope=iplayersearch&version_pid=b0088yhz) is the second in a set of three. I found it amazing how far bioengineering has advanced since the 90's. Now it raises a lot of questions about what is ethical with the prospect of genetically modifying humans. So in one way it is scary and in another way it's exciting.
The most positive aspect of the program was how many genetic diseases will be a thing of the past and it's not that far away. They are also hard at work on a cancer cure.
