I am thinking of topping and FIMming my plants, since I'll have quite a few less than I had expected. However, I just want to know if I am going to do this for the right reasons.

As far as I understand, one tops and/or FIMs a plant to encourage horizontal growth (plants bush out, instead of grow tall), and to increase the number of budsites. So far, am I correct here, or am I missing anything?

by increasing the number of budsites would I possibly be increasing the yeild of each plant?

could anyone please help fill me in on the advantages/disadvantages of topping and/or FIMming?

thank you in advance.:rastasmoke:

Yeah you pretty much have it right. You'll definitely have more bud sites if you top. Whether or not you'll get a better yield because of it depends on how that particular strain takes to toping. Some respond well, some don't.

Hashberry, for example, doesn't like to be topped.
