Could I potentially flower under 24 hours of light, then when I want to flour put the plants in total darkness for 24-36 hours and then go to 13/11 to induce flowering faster?

So I'm never posting sober here again.

Ok, so vegging 24 hours light, flowering under 13 after 36 hour dark period?

you can veg for 24 and then flower for 13 but the extra hour, especially in early flowering, isn't gonna help, it might even slow things down a little.

what about 36 hour dark period to induce flowering?

Also, 13/11 usually produces bigger buds, more yeild, but longer maturation time.

I use 24 hour veg - 48 hours dark - 12/12 flower.
I know a lot of growers, and I don't know anyone who has used 11/13 more than once.;)

so the 48 hour dark period just helps facilitate flowering?

I'll try that then. It shouldn't make much difference (bulk wise) doing LST in a sea of green style.

Some strains resist flowering till photo period starts at less than 12 hours light per day.
I go from 18/6 straight to 12/12. Have never messed-around with extended dark period in between the two. Guess I don't feel the extra stress is worth a day of quicker sexual expression.

Going from a veg light that's constantly on, to a flowering spectrum on a 12/12 schedule is usually enough of a signal to the plant that it's time to strut her stuff.

Have heard the fairy tale of bigger buds grown on a schedule of less than 12 hrs light a day, but have never seen proof. Kinda hard to wrap my head around the premise, that 7 hours of extra darkness will provide more energy to help her grow. Matter of fact, wouldn't it make her stretch more...?
Especially as the lady fills-in, I would think the plant would respond more vigorously with the 'extra' energy. (light)

You can give an extra hour of dark (11day/13night)to speed up flower time at the expense of yield. I think this would be appropriate in the case of a long-flowering tropical sativa. Many problems in late flower are caused by extended stays in the same stale pot of salted up soil.

you can do anything you want with your plant, but my suggestion, as always, is 'imitate nature' ...
