Is smoking with a lighter more dangerous then smoking with matches? I figure they both are pretty bad for you. Butane and phosphorus aren't the best substances to inhale.

Any thc on the outside is burned in the first hit. I just light my lighter leave it lit for 2 seconds then use it to light my bud the butane has burned off or gotten forced away by the heat of the lighter.

A little Vapor Brothers will do quite well as you are saving up for the "big boy". A hands-free model will put you back roughly $175 (inc S&H) and is worth every cent!

A dear friend of mine (on SSI) just got "legal". I'm pretty low income, but I "fronted" her a VB because she has weak lungs. (She'll pay me back when she gets her rebate check this summer. That's fine with me, since I'll need the $ then.)

The day she got legal, I gave her a hit off of a nice glass pipe with some well cured Sour Bubble and she coughed and coughed. Then I fired up the vape with some off the very same bud....no cough at all! She smiled! :D And took another hit while giving me the go ahead to order the vaporizer. (She had wondered if it were really worth the cost.)

My VB has stood up to two years of heavy use and has survived several falls to the floor and is still going strong!

I wonder what percent of the smoke is fumes from the lighter. I really hope it's not very high because I have used a lighter on each hit I take from a bowl for years.

Just about everything that burns if not everything gives off carbon monoxide, and that kills you if inhaled in large quantity's i dont suppose a lighter is going to kill you but it can't be doing your lungs any good.:(

No worrys. So I guess the best option besides sunlight is to let it burn for a little bit? Not sure if that would do anything since the butane is still being burned.

I ain't recommending this, but when I read that sulphur is the 'building-block' for the body's cartilage production, I also inhale the tiny bit from my wooden match :wtf: ... I sometimes sit in a 'sulphury' hot springs, and it really helps my arthritis  (regular hot tubs don't help at all) ... but, in the shape I'm in, I'll try anything

Who in their right mind would use matches to light a bowl. Just get a cheap BIC lighter and if your worried about health affect simply don't put the lighter directly in the bowl. I hate it when people do that because it coats the bud with butane. just spark the flame and hang it over the side of the bowl and suck and the flame will curl over and corner the buds.
