Strawberry Cough
80% Sativa / 20% Indica
Strawberry Cough is a sweet-flavored indoor variety with just enough indica influence to shorten the typically slow growing time of the semitropical sativa into a 2 month flowering cycle. The creamy berry taste combines with its expansive smoke to deliver a variety worty of its name.
Strawberry Cough gardens efficiently whether using hydroponics or soil setups. It is too branchy for sea of green, but Dutch Passion recommends planting 15-20 plants per square meter (1-2 plants per square foot). Strawberry Cough likes a boost of nutrients at the beginning of vegetative growth. Although no data was available for outdoor gardens, Strawberry Cough performs terrifically in greenhouses. Strawberry Cough is a plant of happy mediums, growing to a height of around 3 feet indoors or in a greenhouse garden and exhibiting leaves that balance between indica and sativa influences. This multi-branched plant will start delivering ripe colas about 40 days into flowering, and continue with a second wave that finishes at about 65 days. Greenhouse flowering times are typically a week shorter than indoor gardens.
The buds are tight and shaped like narrow pinecones, and may get quite long. This variety's branches are sturdy and support even the weightiest of colas. Strawberry Cough tickles the lungs with her creamy-sweet smoke, whose flavor resembles strawberry, perhaps with a kiwi fruit complement. The buz is heady and active, a classic let's-go-hiking sativa lift that can alleviate depression.

I'm smoking it right now. :)
Just be sure you give it enough time to mature properly in flower.

im growing some 4 of them at the mo.. just started 12/12 the other day... could ye give us a smoke report?? high???:thumbsup:Properly handled, this is a great strain. The high is mostly 'up', but also has great pain relief effect, so it's great for daytime use.
Proper harvest time and curing are WAY important for this strain.
Harvest too soon, and you won't get the full effect. Harvest too late, and you'll ruin the taste and get a headache.
Cure it longer in the jar than you would most other strains for maximum effect and flavor, but don't leave it exposed to the air too long or you'll lose the flavor and it'll taste like hay.
It's a great strain for hydro, since it doesn't retain that 'hydro flavor'.
Can someone chime in here and let me know the target harvest time frame for this strain?
I'm growing Kushman's SC and read on another site that 70 days is not a bad time; currently I'm about 55-60 days and they are crystaling up nicely but still not 90-100 percent cloudy...

Hey KGB, is this first hand information (you grew SC yourself or watched a buddy's grow), or second hand info from
someone or a seed bank or something? Not trying to diss ya, just trying to get real world advice directly from a grower and I'm unclear of whether your advice is hands-on or passed-on.
Thanks,
MVP

im growin it now for the second time it is the sweetest smellin bud out of the lot (cheese, whiteberry, SC)
although for some reason i have found out ive suffered at the hands of a hermaphrodite and the bottom buds on the lower nodes have started to seed (not impressed) it is only one plant but i have found the odd seed in the other plants bottom buds to.
i have removed the buds to prevent any further loss of yeild
the strange thing is the top colas and main buds are all fine ive given them a real good check over, i also never saw any male pollen sacks or bananas at any point in flower so am wondering what tha fucks happenin,
anyway lets hope alls good with the rest of the buds

I've heard and read so many good things about this strain. I plan on growing this indoors in the fall & winter. Can someone tell me a description of what the high is like for them and how much strawberry taste/smell there is? Thanks.:hippy:

She is one of my all-time favorites. I grew her on the patio last summer. My chosen location needed more sun, so my harvest was weaker than she's capable of producing.
As I understand it, she was bred to be anti-anxiety. I can vouch for her being good for both anti-anxiety and chronic pain.
Although an excellent daytime herb, she doesn't keep me up at night.
The smoke smoke has a strawberry-fruity with a tiny bit of citrus. It doesnt hit hard, nor does it sneek up on you.

Great smoke. Keeps your body buzzing and your mind happy and clear makes you feel at peace. doesn't give you that heavy stone I'm able to do task when I smoke her.

The anti anxiety and pain is the primary reason for my interest. You guys make it sound like a real treat, I can't wait to grow it. Thank you for the help.:hippy:

My first one is about 4 weeks away. Looks good now, very sativia dominate growth, huge growth spurt at 2 weeks in the flower room, much more so than other genotypes I have. Huge sun leaves. Has that way of the sun leaves reaching as White Widow does. Likes a lot of water right now too. So exciting to watch a new one grow. I hope it is good for nerve pain.

Well 56 days today and not close to ready. Shot up to 4 feet tall with no top cropping. (Second one has been cropped to induce a more bushy growth pattern.) Does not like high amounts of P. Seems to want N, but I don't like to give that in flower. Buds are tight and compact. Odor is low. Water use is still high and I live in a very moist climate. Buds just keep getting bigger, but 8 weeks is not enough. Was hoping to enjoy for Xmas. Not looking like that is going to happen now.

it may be the bottom buds do not get enough light and therefore get stressed which can cause hermies.

It took 9 weeks to get 50% amber, have cured for a week, is not quite ready completely, but I just smoked a tiny bit of some of the drier stuff. Still has a week to cure more. Seems like it does wake me up and has a fair impact on pain, but it is a little early to completely judge. It certainly is not bad. 3 hits gave me a buzz, for me that is pretty good weed, usually it takes at least 3 hits of White Widow to get wasted because my tolerance is higher than I like, but that is another story.
Now for the Jedi to get here.

Oh ya, I like this a lot. Great up high, energy. Doesn't take much to get me buzzed well. It does much better with topping though. 9+ weeks to mature tho. Great genotype I recommend to any patient that needs the medical aspects without the couch lock.
