I've searched high and low on this forum and it's really hard to find results using terms like "flush hydro system" and any variation there of...

anyways...I think i need to clean my entire system. it's an ebb and flow. what's the easiest/most thorough way to clean all the salts and crap out of a hydro system?

thanks all,

Skeet

In addition, let's say hypothetically i tried to treat a Mg deficiency with Epsom Salt and now i regret doing it (the board was down for 2 days so i had to go elsewhere for my info...rollitup.org, thegrowreport.com, etc.). I put way too much in the res (i know...i know, bad move...sorry). so how do i clean the plants/medium off as well as the system?

here's what i have:

5 White Rhinos
Ebb & Flow in pH'd Hydroton
5.8 pH (consistantly)
1400ish ppm
30 Days Flowering
400w HPS
GH 3 part Nutes (following latewood's recipe)
70-80* F canopy temp
50-65% humidity
lots of air circulation

Here's a link to the discussion of my problem:

Fill up the res with just plain tap water at correct pH, and some cannazyme if you like (recommended).
Raise your lights.
Run the system for a couple flood cycles, then drain it out and do a complete res change. You can but the res back empty and use a pitcher to pour pHd tap water through the medium to wash down any remaining salts. Of course, dump this too before re-filling.
Now right away go back to a moderate level of your normal ferts.
