I made this light its a hps 70 watt i made reflector and all and i was wondering if it would be good for clones and mother plants and if not should i add cfl to it as well for the right spectrum its like a light amber effect.

That's a sick home-made reflector, and would be awesome at that wattage over clones (about 2 feet away) but you'll want to use a 70w MH instead. The pink light is best reserved for flowering.

nice craftsmanship :thumbsup: ... you could just install a couple of screw-in sockets, and run a pair of Cool (blue) CFLs, then switch to your sodium for flowering, use your reflector for both :thumbsup:

good idea i think ill put cfl in its place for clones and will that be ok for mothers?

Good call Reap.
You can put all sorts of CFLs in there, including those big square-tipped Flourex type ones that require an external ballast and are great for small grows in the veg stage, or to keep mothers under. But for cloning, you'll want something BLUE and WEAK. An 'Ott Light' which is a special VERY blue CFL, is ideal.
Don't forget to change the socket, ballasts, etc when swapping from flouro to HID- they are NOT interchangeable.
